‘The Voice’ crowned Josh Kaufman, as its newest winner last night! Congrats are in order for Josh and his coach Usher, but is Adam Levine pissed off that Usher got the big title this season? Keep reading to find out!
Josh Kaufman won Season 6 of The Voice, but who really coached him to perfection? Josh won with Team Usher, but remember when he was on Adam Levine‘s team way back when? Earlier in the season, Adam let Josh go, and Usher stole him — but does Adam regret that decision, now that he’s the champion?
Josh Kaufman Wins ‘The Voice’ With Usher — Is Adam Levine Mad?
Congrats, Josh Kaufman! The soulful family man was crowned champ of The Voice on Tuesday, May 20, and his coach Usher couldn’t be prouder. But is his former coach Adam taking credit for the big win?
“Of course I do!” Adam told HollywoodLife.com, joking after the finale. “Technically I look at it like two thirds of my team was up there.”
It might sound like Adam is bitter, but it’s all in good fun. “I am pleased and overjoyed Josh won, he deserves it,” Adam raved. “He is a great guy!”
But how does Usher feel? Well, he’s certainly taking full credit for Josh’s big title!
“Winning was every bit of what I would have hoped for,” he said. “Losing was not an option…I couldn’t imagine walking away this season, after seeing season after season of Blake and Adam winning. I think that Josh really put up an incredible performance and fight in this competition.” Usher also admitted that Adam made a big mistake by letting Josh go from his team: “He signed, sealed, delivered you to me!” (Pun intended.)
And Usher joked that Adam isn’t over his and Christina Grimmie‘s loss! “I think he might be behind the stage counting votes!”
Blake Says Usher Was The Coach To Beat
Turns out, there is no feud between the coaches (besides whatever goes on between our favorite bromantic buds, Blake Shelton and Adam)!
Blake, who lost with his country crooner Jake Worthington in 2nd place, said that Usher was the coach to beat and he deserved it!
“I think viewers of the show were ready for someone else to win,” Blake said, after Josh and Usher’s victory. “When I heard Usher was going to be on the show for Season 4, I thought that at that moment it was for a minute. Just knowing his history and developing artists and his work with Bieber, I thought we would never win again and the fact that we did was a shock to me…If there was someone who could beat us I thought it would be Usher, but what I will say is that crap will never happen again, never!”
Who Does Josh Give Credit To — Usher or Adam?
Josh is the true winner here, and he deserves the credit, but which coach is he standing by? Usher!
“[Adam] gets a little credit,” Josh told reporters after his big win. “I started there, but I ended up in the right place.”
So nice of Josh to stand by Usher’s side, but he also did pay thanks to Adam before his crowning moment. Josh thanked both Adam and Usher for coaching him this season in his final statement on the stage before the results were revealed.
Regardless of who really was his coach, we think that Josh deserves all the credit — he impressed throughout the season and now, he is The Voice! Plus, the two might collaborate!
