Sherri Shepherd is officially divorcing her estranged husband, Lamar Sally — but don’t ask her about their split! The talk show host has reportedly banned her co-anchors on ‘The View’ from discussing her heated divorce battle — or Lamar’s alleged cheating — on the show.
Sherri Shepherd and Lamar Sally‘s divorce and custody battle is getting intense, but if you’re looking for answers about why their marriage didn’t work out, don’t turn to The View! Sherri has officially taken the topic of the table, according to VH1’s The Gossip Table.
Sherri Shepherd Split: ‘The View’ Banned From Discussing Star’s Divorce Battle
Sherri, 47, filed for divorce from Lamar on May 12, less than two weeks after he filed his own legal documents on May 2. But the estranged couple have more than just themselves to worry about. Sherri and Lamar are expecting a baby boy in July via a surrogate, according to TMZ, and they’re already embroiled in a custody battle over the little bundle of joy.
And with reports that Sherri suspected Lamar of cheating on her during their three-year marriage, it’s no wonder she doesn’t want to open up about her situation to millions of fans on television!
“No one’s allowed to talk about that, no one’s allowed to talk about the split, no one’s allowed to talk about anything,” the New York Daily News’ Marianne Garvey explains on The Gossip Table. “Her co-stars are like, mum. And the topic comes up on The View!”
In fact, Maryanne explains that, during a recent episode, Sherri told a story about how her young son from a previous marriage, Jeffrey, asked her why she has to go to work everyday.
Sherri said she responded by telling him, “Mommy’s trying to pay the bills, Mommy’s trying to take care of you.” Even though it was the perfect opportunity to open up about her troubles with Lamar, Sherri left it at that and the show moved on to the next topic.
Sherri Shepherd & Lamar Sally BOTH File For Divorce
Sherri cited irreconcilable differences when she filed for a divorce from Lamar, according to New Jersey court documents obtained by UPI. Meanwhile, in his divorce docs, Lamar asked for full custody of the couple’s unborn baby, who is being carried by a surrogate, and is due on July 28.
If Lamar is granted full custody of the child, he will also seek spousal support from Sherri.
So what do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Are you surprised that Sherri doesn’t want to talk about her split from Lamar on The View? Do you think she should? Let us know!
