HOD renewal had nothing to do with TTP or Star Crossed being cancelled. They were cancelled bc they were firs season shows with terrible ratings. HOD may have not had the best ratings but they were a shoe in for renewal for syndication purposes. Also, HOD doesn’t start back until the spring and is only 13 episodes.

Convenient timing a week after the up fronts. I wonder if CW was aware prior to the renewal if not would Hart of Dixie, have been at Up fronts or would The Tomorrow People stars or Star Crossed have been there. As going on last season with Jaime King being missing for two thirds of the season how can there be a Hart of Dixie with out the Hart for most of the season……. CW we now demand answers especially if you were aware and still cancelled these shows knowing full well the star wouldn’t be able to commit then why was the show renewed over the others……

Jamie King was not gone for 2/3 of the season, she missing 5 episodes (out of 22) and I would argue it was really only 4 since she had a fairly big role, via video chat, in one of those when the character was supposed to be out of town. I searliously doubt this had anything to do with Star Crossed or The Tomorrow People being canceled. For most of the season HOD had pretty equal ratings to those 2 shows while being a lot closer to syndication, having a history of much better ratings in it’s first 2 seasons (which almost all fans will tell you they liked better), and had better DVR numbers. That’s why it got picked up instead of the other 2 not because the star is pregnant, that doesn’t even make sense! They won’t do the show without her, they will alter the filming schedule or maybe try to film around it like they did with Jamie King at the begining of the season.

Better ratings than the TTP now you are joking. Comparable to this season hart was nowhere near the competition.

Third season averages: 0.36 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 0.97 million total viewers.

First season averages: 0.53 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.44 million total viewers.

Its this years ratings that matter and her pregnancy does have a huge impact on the show as its been set back for a mid season release so your looking at end of January start or early February. right when baby is sort of due. Now means they start filming first few episodes November, every body closes in December. So Maximum of say three episodes in November and maybe one /two in January before she’s gone and that’s been conservative. As with time for maternity leave and such like in a 13 episode run Rachel Bilson will probably only make an appearance in half of the series. Now throw in complications and that timetable goes out the window. They could film it all before Christmas but then that depends on actor availability as if they have agreed some of the cast can go off and do other projects not knowing her condition. All I’m saying is if the CW was aware and picked the show up then they have a plan like CBS did with Daniela Ruah otherwise this season isn’t going to be what the fans wanted. Yes the show was renewed for syndication we all know that but wouldn’t it be better to postpone it for a year now get it right have everybody available and that’s why I say if CW didn’t have all the facts and this was kept quiet for renewal who in the end is going to be worse off not the network but the fans. That’s why I say bring back one of the other shows until this can be done right.
