‘The Voice’ will crown its winner tonight on May 20, and if it were up to Usher…Josh Kaufman would win! Keep reading for Josh and Usher’s EXCLUSIVE interview.
Josh Kaufman captured viewers with his smooth singing on The Voice from the moment he first stepped foot onto the stage, and he’s made it to the top three! Josh’s fate is now in America’s hands, but his coach Usher says that he deserves to win! Plus, will Usher and Josh collaborate together, after the finale?
Usher Says Josh Kaufman is Going To Win ‘The Voice’
Josh Kaufman is going up against country crooner Jake Worthington and YouTube sensation Christina Grimmie on what may be The Voice‘s most competitive finals yet, but his coach Usher says that he is going to win! And who knows better than Usher?
“We are going to win,” Usher told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY at the May 19th final live show. “I feel very positive about what I saw with Josh…He is an incredible artist and talent. Week after week he leaves it on the stage, and I think this week was his best performance yet of the entire season.”
For his final song, Josh sang Adele‘s “Set Fire To The Rain” and wowed the judges. “He deserves to be The Voice‘s voice!” raved Usher. “He changes the idea about what people think about this show, and year after year its been Blake or Adam — we need to change that. He is changing that!”
Usher couldn’t have been more proud of Josh, and is rooting for him to pull all the way through. “I would say that Josh is the shining changing standard…he has done the work, spent the time, he deserves it. I am happy to have him on my team.”
Will Josh and Usher Collaborate After ‘The Voice’?
Regardless of Josh’s final fate on The Voice, he would love to collaborate with Usher!
“Of course,” Josh told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “I felt we made a connection and have a similar approach to things that has really worked!”
We agree! The contestant and coach duo took the stage to sing “Every Breath You Take” on the May 19 show, and they were incredible.
Usher told us that he would sing with Josh (“I think it will happen!”), as long as he wants to, but we think it’s safe to say that Josh is in. “To have Usher tell you things to make you a better artist, a better singer,” Josh said, “he has taught me so much moving forward.”
HollywoodLifers, who do you hope wins The Voice? Are you rooting for Josh? Would you listen to a Josh and Usher collaboration? Let us know!
