April Jace, 40, was shot to death by her husband of ten years, Michael Jace, on May 19 in their Los Angeles home. Not only did Michael kill his wife in what’s believed to be a domestic dispute, he reportedly shot his wife in front of their two children, according to TMZ.
Investigators arrested Michael at their home in Hyde Park, Los Angeles Police Detective Lyman Doster confirmed to CNN. The shooting took place 8:30 pm, and neighbors called the police reporting that they heard shots fired.
Shortly after, Michael himself called and said on the phone, “I shot my wife.” He then stayed on the phone with police until they arrived at his home shortly after.
Their two children, both under the age of 10, witnessed the shooting, TMZ reported, and were extremely upset and taken into the police station. It took Children’s Services four hours to get there and take the children to a family member’s home.
He was booked by police on a homicide charge.
Michael was best known as Julien Lowe, an officer in the FX police drama, The Shield. He starred in 89 episodes from 2002 to 2008.He also appeared on several episodes of Southland, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Private Practice, The Mentalist, Burn Notice and NYPD Blue.
