Tori — you are terrified that Dean will cheat on you or worse when he spends months in Toronto shooting his show, ‘Chopped Canada.‘ Unfortunately, you have to let him go and pursue his career — but, Dean, if you forget your vows again, you’re finished.
Tori Spelling, you are clearly in agony trying to save your marriage to Dean McDermott on True Tori. But as hard as it is, you must give him this last chance to prove that he can work without cheating.
Dean McDermott Cheating In Toronto? — Your Marriage Is Over If You Do
Tori — yes, Dean cheated in the sleaziest way when he flew to Toronto on Dec. 6, 2013, for just a few days to promote Chopped Canada.
While you were at home with your four young children, attending a Christmas charity event, he got busy having a one-night stand with Emily Goodhand, who later sold the story of their hook-up to Star magazine.
Now you and Dean are desperately trying to see if you can save your shattered marriage, with the help of a therapist on True Tori, but you’re at a crossroads.
If Dean is to keep his successful TV gig as the host of the popular Canadian reality show Chopped Canada, he must spend two months filming in Toronto — the scene of his heartless betrayal.
Tori — for you, there’s no question that if Dean leaves, he’s putting both his marriage and family at risk: “What I am going to go through emotionally and mentally … every day, I’m going to live in so much fear of something bad happening,” Tori confessed when you two tried to talk out the heartbreaking situation. “Bad things always happen in Toronto.”
Dean, not surprisingly, responded: “I feel like I can’t win.” And, honestly, Tori, he and you are in a no-win situation. If Dean goes, you’ll worry every minute of every day that he’ll cheat or that he’ll start drinking and drugging again and also possibly become suicidal again. On the other hand, if Dean stays home, he’ll lose a lucrative and successful career gig. He needs this job to help support your large family and to revive his less-than-stellar career.
Tori, do you really want to have all the pressure of supporting your family solely on your shoulders? And won’t Dean resent you for insisting that he choose between you and your family and his career?
Tori Spelling: You Must Give Dean McDermott A Chance to Prove Himself
You have to let him go and give him one last chance to prove that he can be committed to you and your children. As torturous as that is, it’s your only choice if you two want to have any hope of succeeding as a couple.
Dean has sworn to you and to the world that he will be faithful: “Cheating is never, ever, ever happening again. The drinking and the drugs — I don’t want them.”
I’m not sure what more he can do to prove to you that he has learned a huge and lasting lesson from this terrible episode in your lives.
Now, you must actually give him the chance to work in Canada and to demonstrate that he can stay faithful. There’s no doubt that this will be a huge test of his ability to be monogamous, as well as a test of his sobriety.
Listen, Tori — he’ll either be a responsible adult, husband and father or he’ll be a huge disappointment. But at least you will know, within just a few months, if your marriage is worth saving.
If he fails and cheats or gives in to drinking and drugging, then you have a heartbreaking answer, but at least it’s a definitive answer.
Dean — you’re asking for Tori to give you this final choice, so if you blow it, you must know that your marriage will be over for good.
However, if you truly are committed to your marriage and to supporting your family, you’ll sail through the next few months and it will enable you and Tori to have a fresh start with confidence. Tori — that’s worth taking a chance on.
