The reigning ‘Dancing With The Stars’ champion has returned! Amber Riley was on hand on May 20 to hand over her crown and perform her new song ‘Colorblind’ at the season 18 finale, but something went wrong — were there technical difficulties at the live show?

Amber Riley, 28, hit the Dancing With The Stars stage once more after her Season 17 win to perform her song “Colorblind.” However, the East Coast taping of the show came back from commercial at the strangest time, totally cutting off the bulk of her performance! Keep reading for more on Amber’s performance and the super strange DWTS blunder!

Amber Riley Performs ‘Colorblind’ On ‘DWTS’ Season 18 Finale — Technical Difficulties?

Right after Iggy Azalea‘s earpiece cut out during her performance of “Fancy”, Amber Riley, too, seem to have been a victim of technical difficulties! The reigning champ totally deserved a proper introduction to the stage, but not only did viewers not get to see that, they also didn’t get to see her perform! DWTS came back from commercial just as Amber was wrapping up “Colorblind”. These kinds of mistakes can totally happen in live TV, but hosts Erin Andrews and Tom Bergeron didn’t even address it!

Amber looked beautiful in a figure-flattering black dress and her hair in glam curls — and what we heard of the song was totally amazing!

‘DWTS’ Recap: [SPOILER] Wins ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 18

It’s obvious why “Colorblind” is Amber’s debut single off of her upcoming album — it perfectly shows off her powerhouse vocals. That said, not only did we want to hear more of her actual performance, but we also can’t wait until we can hear  more of her original music! (Not that we don’t totally love her Glee covers, however!)

Later in the same episode, Amber took the stage again to perform “Do Your Thing” by Basement Jaxx and received the proper introduction deserving of any DWTS diva. She looked amazing in a gold metallic flapper dress, fringe flying everywhere as she danced around the stage like crazy while singing her heart out.

Amber Riley Debuted ‘Colorblind’ On ‘Glee’

Amber was crowned the Season 17 DWTS champion back in November 2013 along with her amazing partner, Derek Hough. We already knew that the Glee actress could sing and had rhythm, but she was the perfect mixture of upbeat and fun combined with class and elegance that made her worthy of winning that coveted mirror ball trophy! For that reason, it’s totally perplexing to us that her performance was cut off like it was — surely it wasn’t on purpose?

Since her win, Amber has returned to Glee and even debuted “Colorblind” on the April 8 episode. Amber initially premiered “Colorblind” live on the The Queen Latifah Show on April 3, and the song was released as a digital download on April 8.We can’t wait to hear the rest of her debut album and expect to see great things from this rising star!

What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Did you like what you heard from Amber’s performance of “Colorblind”? What was up with this episode? Was it a mistake that Amber’s performance was cut off, or was it supposed to be so short? Let us know!
