After becoming internet sensations, Tara the cat and her owners, the Triantafilo family, have been invited to throw out the first pitch at a minor league baseball game. How cool!
Tara The Cat To Throw First Pitch
The heroic cat that saved a little boy from a terrifying dog attack has reached celebrity status.
Bakersfield Blaze, a minor league baseball team, has invited Tara and the Triantafilo family to throw out the honorary first pitch at their May 20 home game.
“It’s official! Local HERO CAT will be throwing out a first pitch on Tuesday, May 20th!” the official Bakersfield Blaze Twitter account posted on May 15.
Wow. We can’t wait to see if Tara is a righty or a lefty! (Just kidding.)
The game will also act as a charity event, as attendees have been asked to bring canned goods and pet food as donations. Awesome!
In case you missed the original video, Tara risked her life when she rammed into a dog that was twice her size as it was attacking her beloved owner, 4-year-old Jeremy.
When she managed to get the dog away from Jeremy, she continued to chase him until he ran far enough away from the little boy.
Because of Tara’s actions, the little boy only suffered a few stitches to his leg. Even Jeremy’s parents, Erika and Roger, agree that the situation could have been much worse if Tara had not intervened.
“[Tara] really is the most amazing cat.” Erika told the Bakersfield Californian in an interview.
We totally agree!
