Yes, Michael Bay has done it again, giving us just what we need this summer: a fast paced, high intensity flick. The new trailer for Transformers: Age of Extinction dropped on May 15 promising a movie jam-packed with non-stop action and one other very awesome thing — Mark Wahlberg! Need we say more?
‘Transformers: Age Of Extinction': New Details Revealed
The trailer starts out with a group of scientists hailing “the greatest advance in modern physics since the splitting of the atom,” which turns out to be the molecularly unstable metal the machines are made of. And the villain is none other than Stanley Tucci, who is all too familiar with playing the antagonist.
As for Marky Mark’s character, he plays a single dad trying to make ends meet as a mechanic, while taking care of his gorgeous blonde daughter, played by Nicola Peltz. Mark’s character finds himself amidst the chaos after he purchases an old dilapidated truck that is none other than Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots. However, making a major discovery such as finding a Transformer can only bring bad news… like getting the attention of the Decepticons and the U.S. government.
With the government all up in his business, the former Funky Bunch member’s house is overrun with officials and he is forced to cooperate with them or watch as they terrorize his family.
Just as the tension is at its peak, there’s a huge explosion in the barn and out storms Optimus Prime, ready to lay down the law. Allowing us to see that no negotiation is in site, but seriously, did these officials honestly think their puny guns would take down the monstrous Autobot machine?
Step Aside Godzilla, Here Come The Dinobots
What would a fourth installment be without adding some new Transformers into the mix? That’s where the Dinobots come in, a small but downright powerful Autobot faction from the original series. They make a dramatic entrance in the trailer, with a fire-breathing robotic T-Rex leading the way. You read that right — a fire-breathing T-Rex.
What do you think HollywoodLifers, will you be seeing the new Transformers movie?
