A report claims that Jay-Z told his sister-in-law Solange Knowles to ‘shut the f**k up’ in the moments right before the two exchanged blows in an elevator after the Met Ball Gala after-party, May 5.
The fight between Jay-Z, 44, and Solange Knowles, 27, is over and done with but more details are still coming out about what exactly caused the fight in the first place. A recent report claims that Jay-Z told Solange to “shut the f**k up” right before the two got on the elevator at the Standard Hotel, on May 5, after the Met Ball Gala after-party. Those comments, allegedly, were what drove Beyonce’s little sister over the edge.
Jay-Z Told Angry Solange Knowles To ‘Shut The F**K Up’ Before Elevator Fight
The shocking surveillance footage captured Solange, punching, kicking, and slapping Jay-Z. Unfortunately, the film didn’t have sound so we’re all left wondering who said what to who and why. Star Magazine claims that they’ve solved the mystery.
“Solange has always resented Jay. She thinks he’s the reason she and Beyonce have grown apart — Solange always makes snide remarks to him,” a source revealed to Star Magazine. “He’s [Jay-Z] very passive about it and usually ignores her, but that night Jay finally told her, ‘shut the f**k up.'”
So Solange blames Jay for creating a rift between her and Bey. Could there be any other reasons why she resents Hova?
“She [Solange] is bitter that he never helped her with her music,” Star’s source explains. “She watched him mentor Rihanna and Rita Ora while ignoring her. It’s always been a real bone of contention for Solange.”

So that explains why the pot of anger in Solange has been bubbling but what finally made it bubble over into a full-on fight in an elevator?
Apparently, moments before Solange, Jay-Z, and Beyonce walked to the elevator from the hotel’s famed Boom Boom Room, Solange had a big blowup with designer Rachel Roy over her “too close for comfort” relationship with Jay.
However, the three family members released a joint statement one May 15 claiming that all is forgiven. The statement says that they fought as any family fights and that they hope everyone else can move on from the incident as they have.
