The first theatrical trailer for Christopher Nolan’s ‘Interstellar’ has been released and while it answers a lot of questions about what the movie is actually about, it leaves the viewer clamoring for more — which we suppose is kind of the point. Click through to watch!

Due out in November 2014, the plot details of Christopher Nolan‘s Interstellar have been murky at best. While a teaser trailer was released in November 2013, it revealed exactly nothing about what to expect from Christopher’s latest venture, and we have known nothing about it other than the fact that Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway star. However, a full, proper trailer has finally been released! Watch it!

‘Interstellar’ Trailer: Matthew McConaughey And Anne Hathaway Star In New Christopher Nolan Film

Interstellar is set in the near-ish future, where a global food shortage has led engineer-slash-pilot Cooper (Matthew McConaughey) to become a farmer. He appears to live a relatively quiet life with his two children until he’s tapped by mentor Michael Caine to go on an interstellar mission to find a sustainable food source on another planet.

“We must confront the reality that nothing in our solar system can help us,” intones Michael Caine in a voiceover. “We’re not meant to save the world — we’re meant to leave it. And this is the mission you’ve been trained for.”

The trailer mainly features Matthew, with flashes of crops burning, himself in a space shuttle of some kind, and even briefer flashes of co-stars Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway. “Mankind was born on earth. It was never meant to die here,” read ominous title cards.

The trailer is intriguing, but not overly informative. We don’t really get an idea of the genre or what we can truly expect from the film, but it asks a lot of questions, leaving the viewer looking for more. Will they find what they’re looking for? Will it be in space or on earth? What’s Anne Hathaway’s role as co-star? And Matt Damon’s? Is there something bigger at work, here? It’s Christopher Nolan, after all — there’s got to be more below the surface.

Also starring in Interstellar are Matt DamonTopher GraceWes BentleyCasey AffleckWilliam Devane, and more. The film is set to release November 7, 2014 and was written by Christopher along with his brother, Jonathan Nolan.
