Michael Jackson will never really be gone. He lives through his music. On May 14, Justin Timberlake headed on ‘Ellen’ to premiere the music video of ‘Love Never Felt So Good’ — MJ and Justin’s new song.
The official music video of Michael Jackson and Justin Timberlake‘s new song is finally here! “Love Never Felt So Good” is featured on MJ’s compilation album Xscape, which came out May 13, and while we loved the song when hearing it at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, we love the video even more.
Michael Jackson & Justin Timberlake’s Video
We’re obsessed with this video! Justin, 33, premiered it during Ellen and it was definitely one of the most creative we’ve ever seen. It’s no surprise since it’s MJ and Justin! In the video, we see a montage of Michael’s dance moves over the years in different music videos.
What’s cool is that the camera cuts between Michael dancing and Justin dancing the same moves. Plus, he is joined by a ton of fans and other dancers who are jamming out in the background!
This is the first music video to come out of the album — we previewed the song at the iHeartRadio Music Awards when Usher, paid tribute in an amazing dance. The song was recorded in 1983 and you can totally hear the ’80s-style beat! However, the full version is a bit more contemporary, which is perfect for him to pair up with Justin.
Justin & Michael’s Collaboration From Years Ago Revealed
This isn’t actually the first song they planned to work together on. When Justin was working on Celebrity, the 2001 album for *NSYNC, he co-wrote “Gone” in hopes of collaborating with Michael. However, he thought MJ passed, and brought it to the guys in the band.
However, when Michael later called him and said he wanted to make it a duet — he couldn’t do it. It was already cut as a song for *NSYNC. He asked Michael if he would do a collab with the band, but he wanted it as a duet.
“I’m on the phone, I’m literally punching myself in the face, because I said, ‘I can’t do that. Could we do an ‘N Sync track featuring Michael Jackson? Or Michael Jackson featuring ‘N Sync?’ And he was very absolute about the fact that he wanted it to be a duet between himself and I,” Justin said on Oprah’s Master Class on May 11.
Justin also said that gave him the confidence to go solo — and he’s never told anyone the Michael story before.
What do you think of the new video, HollywoodLifers? Let me know!
