On the May 13 episode of ‘The Little Couple,’ the entire family heads to New York City where Jen and Bill will appear as guests on the ‘Dr.Oz’ show. During their trip, Bill’s mom finally gets to meet her new granddaughter, Zoey!
Dr. Jennifer Arnold has been cancer-free for six weeks. After attending a press conference in Texas, she and her husband, Bill Klein, are invited to New York City for an appearance on the Dr. Oz Show to discuss Jen’s battle with cancer. Then it is time for some family fun when Bill’s mother, Barbara, meets granddaughter Zoey for the very first time.
‘The Little Couple’ Recap — Jen Jumps Back Into Work, Sort Of
Jen is a mom who knows how to juggle and loves to be on the go. After being cancer free for six weeks, she is finally regaining her strength and is ready to get back to work. Well, kind of.
Jen said, “After 4 and a half months of chemotherapy and battling cancer, I’m finally done. So, it’s been a little over six weeks since I had my last chemotherapy treatment and I’m in remission. I’m not ready to start getting back into work.”
Jen held a press conference at the Texas Children’s Hospital where was treated for cancer and also where she works, in order to thank her colleagues for all of their hard work and dedication towards helping her get better over the last few months.
After the press conference, Bill and Jen are both invited to be guests on Dr.Oz where they discuss Jen’s battle with cancer and their new outlook on life. Bill explained that they not only value each other more, they just enjoy being able to be together. Bill also sweetly told Dr.Oz that they have a deal — he is to go first, so that Jen doesn’t leave him behind. Aw!
Zoey Meets Grandma Barbara
Bill’s mother, Barbara, lives on Long Island where Bill grew up, so while the entire family was in New York, Barbara was finally able to meet Zoey in person. Bill explained that by just seeing her pictures he knew that Barbara was already in love with her, but it was so sweet to witness their first interaction.
Barbara said, “It was love at first sight. I saw her, it was wonderful. It was just a wonderful experience to meet my granddaughter for the first time.” Awww!
Zoey also took to her grandmother right away, outstretching her arms for Barbara to pick her up — and of course give her plenty of kisses!
Grandma made sure to bring plenty of presents and showered both Zoey and Will with love. She sure makes for one awesome grandma.
The Family Heads To Grand Central
While in the city, the family thought that it might be fun to see one of the major New York landmarks — Grand Central Station. It ended up being a great place to take the kids because both Bill and Will share a love of trains. It was so nice to see the two of them getting up close and personal with the trains. They loved it!
Will was so eager to explore, so Bill came up with a solution that would let him wander around without Bill and Jen having to worry about him all day long.
Bill said, “Will’s of course an explorer, he wants to go get into trouble and holding onto my hand is not exactly the cool thing to do, but I do need to make sure he stays safe, so we decided to use a tether that works with the monkey bag.” Bill describes the feeling of using the tether as “flying a kite on the floor” — very accurate!
While Bill and Will look at the trains, the girls do a little shopping — until Zoey begins to cry and ask to get out of the stroller and walk.
Sadly, their trip comes to an end with the entire family and Barbara sitting down at Juniors for a nice lunch where something unexpected happens. They find a food that Will doesn’t like! Turns out the 4-year-old is not a fan of pickles. Everyone was shocked and Will’s face of disgust was adorable!
We can’t wait to see where the family journey’s to next!
What do YOU think, HollyMoms? Do you think Bill was smart to use the monkey backpack tether? Were you surprised Will doesn’t like pickles? Let us know your thoughts below!
