’24: Live Another Day’ Recap: Catch Me If You Can
We were right back in the thick of things with Jack and Chloe going after Yates and his lady friend. Jack found the pub and Yates’ body in the bathroom. He realized the girl was a professional and started after her. Chloe discovered she had gotten on the subway and Jack had four minutes until her next stop.
Jack headed for the train and hopped on. With Chloe’s help, he found her! However, the girl spotted Jack and pulled out a knife and cut herself. She wiped the blood on her face and yelled that Jack was trying to kill her. With everyone crowding around Jack, the girl was able to slip through the tunnels to get away.
She was on her way out and Chloe could have caught her, but she caught a glimpse of a father and son and got lost in the moment. During that brief second, she missed the girl stepping into a car. Jack asked how she could miss her and what was going on. She thought she saw husband Morris (Carlo Rota) and son Prescott (Capp Gordon), but knew it couldn’t have been them. Chloe revealed that Morris and Prescott were dead from a hit and run on the way home from soccer practice. She said they were targeted because she knew what happened the day Jack disappeared. “You can’t bring back the ones you love,” Jack said. “Trust me. But you can honor their lives by helping others. It’s the only way forward.” He begged for Chloe’s help, because people would die otherwise. As always, Chloe agreed.
Meanwhile, Kate (Yvonne Strahovski) was questioning Yates’ associates about Jack, against Navarro’s (Benjamin Bratt) orders. The last thing the U.S. needed was to carry out an ops mission on British soil, especially with everything so tense. Kate followed command and let most of the guys go, except one. He knew information, so she knocked him out and brought him with her.
’24: Live Another Day’ Recap: Keeping Secrets
Mark was still trying to cover up Jack’s reappearance from Audrey and Heller. There was an order that needed signing by President Heller about Jack and he put it to the side when Audrey stepped in. Audrey confronted Mark about attacking her father before he went before Parliament. Mark said his judgment was impaired and it wasn’t a good idea to stay in London. Mark thought the best option was to head back home and do damage control from there. He asked Audrey to talk to her father about letting up on the drone deal. Without Heller’s consent, Mark signed the order about Jack!
The girl Jack was after was Simone Al-Harazi (Emily Berrington), daugther of Margot Al-Harazi (Michelle Fairley). Jack knew all about Margot. Margot had married an Al-Qaeda commander who was killed three years ago and she had barely survived. Simone found her way home and Margot was immediately concerned that she had been followed. Simone gave the device to her mom and her brother was hard at work finishing up their plans for an attack. Simone’s husband Naveed showed up and acted weird toward Simone. Margot told him not to hold anything Simone had to do with Yates against her. She did what she needed to do for the plan. Jack made the connection between Simone and Margot and knew the only way to find them was to go back to Adrian (Michael Wincott).
Jack and Chloe went back to Adrian’s and revealed the device’s intentions to use the drones to destroy London. He mentioned that the device was now in the hands of known terrorists. Jack had to prove the device existed and Chloe found out about drone pilot Tanner (John Boyega) and the explosion from the last episode. Tanner was just about to be delivered in London and Jack needed a new identity in order to get the information to Heller about the impending attack.
’24: Live Another Day’ Recap: Margot Means Business
Margot continued to question Simone about Jack. She believed Simone was careless. Simone said he couldn’t find her now that she was home. “We have the opportunity to change history,” Margot said. “With a plan of this magnitude, there is no margin for error. You can’t ever let down your guard down.” She stressed these points while sewing up Simone’s leg. (Margot means business.)
The guy Kate took didn’t want to talk initially, so Kate took him to a tunnel where his enemies were hanging out. He immediately agreed to talk about what he knew. Yates was working on a project concerning drones and the cash was massive. Yates kept mentioning something about Tanner and that was all he knew.
Erik (Gbenga Akinnagbe) told Kate that she was sharp after her gut reactions about finding Jack and Yates were correct. When Navarro called, he was pissed that Kate had assaulted and kidnapped a British citizen. She told him about a break in the case and said they were headed to Embassy to question Tanner.
Audrey sat down with her Heller and talked about his appearance before Parliament. Mark and Audrey were concerned about him going in front of a bunch of people, especially with his condition. “You tell your husband that I appreciate his concern, but I am not going home without that base.” Audrey said Mark was only doing what he thought was best for Heller. Heller asked how Mark and Audrey were getting along and she said they were OK, but there was a look between father and daughter, which said it all.
Against Mark’s wishes, Heller headed into Parliament with Audrey by his side. He was angry that Audrey didn’t do what he asked. “You’ve got to stop making decisions for everyone,” Audrey told Mark. She was tired of Mark controlling her like a “fragile little keepsake” and asked him to step off. (Trouble in paradise?)
The Prime Minister advised Heller to wait to address Parliament, but Heller didn’t listen. He got up to the podium and people just started yelling at him. He started to freeze, because there was nothing he could say to ease their anger.
Jack headed to the Embassy with his new identity, but Adrian went in and put in the wrong code, which would cause Jack to get arrested! When his code didn’t go through, Adrian lied and said it should have worked. Chloe knew something was up and told Jack to bolt. Jack started to run and the guards saw Jack was on the move. He beat up a guard, took his gun and started shooting into the drone protesting mob. Chaos erupted, but Kate spotted Bauer before he got away!
