‘The Vampire Diaries’ has all the elements of an addicting TV show — super sexy stars, never-ending magic, and one heck of a love triangle. With the season finale of season five approaching fast, it would completely ruing everything if one of those gets killed off.
Spoiler alert! If you haven’t yet watched the March 8th episode of The Vampire Diaries, you will find out what went down if you continue reading!
‘The Vampire Diaries’: No, I’m Not Saying Goodbye To Stefan
Let me start by saying that I’m 100 percent Team Delena — I think that Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) are the Pacey and Joey here and will end up together. However, without Stefan (Paul Wesley) in the mix, none of this will work.
To start off, when Julian-inside-Tyler’s-body (Michael Trevino) ripped out Stefan’s heart, Stefan was trying to save Caroline (Candice Accola). So basically, she watched her ex-boyfriend who she’s still in love with, kill her best friend who we’re all pretty sure she’s in love with, too.
If Stefan does not return, there’s a good chance we’ll be seeing Caroline go into a downward spiral, and as the comic relief for the group and the best friend to pretty much everyone but Damon, the chemistry will be completely off. Not to mention Elena, who has watched every single person she loves die.
Damon, Caroline & Elena All Need Stefan
Most importantly, I would say is Damon needs Stefan. Sure, Damon’s the bad guy — he kills for fun, his sarcasm pisses everyone off, and he killed/turned almost everyone on the show . . . at least once. But without the good guy, there wouldn’t be a bad guy.
Damon needs Stefan, just like Stefan needs Damon — to survive, to remind him that it’s ok to be good and that sometimes, you have to let things go, or work like hell to get them back.
Plus, I am team Steroline and strongly believe that after literally getting his heart ripped out in an effort to save Caroline, there’s no way she’ll forgive herself, and no way she’ll end up happy again.
How exactly will this all go down to get Stefan back? My hunch is that in the “explosive” season finale, that doppelgänger blood will run out, as will the power of Markos (Raffi Barsoumian) and his trusty Travelers, and somehow, Bonnie (Kat Graham) will find a way to help the Other Side — including Stefan. (I mean, will Caroline and Elena really lose Bonnie and Stefan?)
For those of you who have been watching the show from the start, people come and go, get killed and return, etc. so, could he really be gone. EP Caroline Driers did say that three notable deaths would happen and be permanent — but we still have the finale. Sure, Paul also took to Twitter after the episode to say, “Stefan is done-zo. Sorry guys.”
What do you think, HollywoodLifers — do you think it was time to kill off Stefan? Am I too optimistic to think he’ll return? Can the show go on without him? Or should they save him? Let me know!
