Poor Sheezus! The British singer has been doing a ton of promotion for her new album — and it’s finally caught up with her. After showing fans that she had come down with the flu on May 6, Lily posted a pic about 24 hours later showing how the illness had landed her in the hospital!
Having the flu is never easy — but it’s that much more dangerous when someone like Lily Allen, who’s performing or making TV appearances every night, gets it. The 29-year-old singer revealed that she had come down with the nasty illness on May 6, and though she tried to self-medicate and stay hydrated, things got so bad that she had to be rushed to the hospital on May 8.
Lily Allen Hospitalized For The Flu
“#SHEEzUS in #SHOSPITAL,” Lily wrote along with an Instagram picture of herself in a hospital bed, stuck with IV needles. However, though the picture looked worrisome, Lily assured everyone that she was doing alright. “I’m fine though guys, just need some fluids cause i can’t keep anything down.#dramz,” the rest of Lily’s Insta caption read.
Just hours before heading to the hospital, Lily made a guest appearance on the popular British show Alan Carr: Chatty Man — clearly it was just too much for Lily’s sick body to handle. She had also been doing more globetrotting than an ill person should — on May 5, she was in New York City for the Met Gala, where she partied with Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Cara Delevingne, and more.
Lily Allen Takes Fans Through Her Illness
Using her Instagram, Lily let all her fans see the progression of her illness. It started on May 6, when Lily Instagrammed a picture of the cold and flu medicines she was taking. “This travel catching up with me,” Lily wrote.
A day later she posted a pick of herself getting glammed up, and said she was feeling “#QUEAZUS” while trying to medicate with a glass of green juice. She later posted a pic of a bunch of empty Evian water bottles and said that she was “#SHEEHYDRATING,” but also that she was “poisoned.”
So, no one can say that they didn’t see this coming.
It’s too bad that Lily got so sick that she had to be hospitalized, but we are relieved to hear that the Sheezus singer will be okay after getting some rehydratedration. We’ll be waiting to see Lily’s “I’m cured” Instagram post, which should be coming soon.
