So sad. Tragedy struck at former tennis star James Blake’s Florida home on May 7, when a family of four was found dead in their bedrooms with gunshot wounds in their heads and ‘heavy duty fireworks strapped’ to them.
Police have reportedly identified Darrin Campbell, 51, his wife, Kimberly, and their two teenage children Colin, 19, and Megan, 16, as the family of four that was found dead inside the Tampa, Fla. mansion of former tennis star James Blake. James had been renting out the home that was burned to the ground in a bizarre house fire that occurred early on the morning of May 7.
James Blake House Fire: Four Killed With Fireworks Strapped To Head
Police are currently investigating how the family was killed and while the bodies have been pulled from the ashes of the home, they have not officially been identified, according to the UK’s Daily Mail.
The house went up in flames at around 6 a.m. on May 7, after a series of huge explosions.
Early reports say that the crime scene is gruesome, as the home was completely burned to the ground.
“The fire was intentionally set,” Colonel Donna Lusczynski, of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, said at a news conference on May 7, according to People magazine. “Fireworks were found throughout the house.”
Another police investigator tells the mag that the scene of the killings was “chaotic and terrible. It’s one of the worst things I’ve ever seen.”
Tennis Star James Blake Not At Home During Fire
Public records indicate that Darrin, who’s a prominent businessman in the south Florida area, and his family were currently residing at the home, according to the Daily Mail.
The 7,600 square foot mansion belongs to retired tennis star James Blake. James reportedly lives in Connecticut and was not at his Florida home at the time the fire erupted.
