‘The Voice’ headed into its most brutal elimination show yet on Tuesday, May 6, sending home three contestants — including the most shocking send-off in the show’s history. Click to see which frontrunners were cut from the competition!
The top eight singers on The Voice are so talented that it’s hard to imagine any of them going home. But three of them? That seems impossible, but it actually happened! Was your favorite singer eliminated? Keep reading to see who is safe, and meet your Top Five.
The First Artist Moving Onto The Semi-Finals Is…
Before the rough eliminations went down, a country performance set the stage for an entertaining night. Contestants Kat Perkins, Jake Worthington, Kristen Merlin and Audra McLaughlin belted out The Band Perry‘s “Chainsaw” together. They all did great! Unfortunately, despite their fantastic opening number, all four were up for elimination.
After the first performance of the night, host Carson Daly called out the first artist to be safe in the competition: Josh Kaufman from Team Usher!
Which Singers Are Safe?
The next singer that America saved was Kristen Merlin from Team Shakira! Coach Shakira was so excited that she stood up and gave Kristen a huge hug!
Next up, Christina Grimmie! This save was not surprising, as Cristina stunned the night before on May 5 with her Lil Wayne performance during the live shows, but her and her Adam Levine were still, rightfully, so excited!
To break up the tension of the night, Christina, Josh, Sisaundra Lewis and Delvin Choice stepped into the spotlight for a four-way performance to Disclosure‘s funky song “Latch.” Of course, they were all amazing, but only one more contestant could be deemed safe, at this point in the night…
…and that person was Jake from Blake Shelton‘s team!
The Bottom Four Perform To Save Their Lives
Sisaundra, Audra, Delvin and Kat ended up in the bottom four — this is truly the most shocking bottom bunch we’ve ever seen, but with the talent this season, it’s going to be impossible not having incredible artists in the bottom, going forward.
Sisaundra from Team Blake sang to save her life first. She sang Aretha Franklin‘s “You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman,” and she was downright amazing. All of the coaches gave her great praise, saying that it’s unfair that she is in the bottom.
Audra took the stage next, singing “Done” by The Band Perry. The country star was spunky, fun and her voice was great! Again, the coaches were impressed and shocked that she was singing for her life. Her coach Blake said, “This girl is a world class vocalist,” pleading America to save her in the Instant Save!
Kat proved why she’s a rocker chick with her potentially final performance, which Adam gave her a huge round-of-applause for. Damn, that girl can sing!
Delvin sang “Young Girls” by Bruno Mars and although he started off a bit pitchy, he proved why he deserves to be in the competition, as always. But was it enough?
Kat Is Saved — Sisaundra, Delvin & Audra Are Sent Home
Both Blake and Adam each had two contestants in the bottom four, and they were completely distraught that some of their singers could go home.
But there is the Instant Save. So who was the lucky contestant to be saved by America? Kat Perkins!
That means that Delvin, Sisaundra and Audra were all sent home.
HollywoodLifers, is this the most shocking elimination you’ve ever seen? We think so! Let us know who you were most sad to see sent home.
