“With the Today show in a good place, we are blessed with great talent and many options to temporarily fill Savannah’s chair while she’s on leave,” NBC told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “But there’s no plan yet — stay tuned.”
We certainly will!
Katie Couric: Most Popular Name In News
A return to the Today show wasn’t the first position Katie was considered for on a major news show. There were reports of Katie replacing Barbara Walters on The View, after her retirement, but those reports did not come to fruition. After two seasons of hosting her own talk show, Katie, the esteemed journalist was named Yahoo’s Global Anchor in November 2013. Although Katie is not returning for another season, we have a feeling she will be very high in demand!
While Katie’s pending Today gig isn’t official, we’d sure like to see her back in her former chair next to Matt. What a team they were!
