It hasn’t been the greatest year for Chris, but this year we’re looking forward! On May 5, the singer turned 25, and we can’t wait to see what he’s going to do next year!
On May 5, Chris Brown turned 25 and even though he’s behind bars for his birthday, we have a big hope that next year will be so much better for the star! We’re running down the big events that happened this year for the singer.
Chris Brown’s 25th Birthday
We know Karrueche Tran will be waiting and supporting Chris every step of the way, as she has been throughout the whole year. After the assault in 2009 against his ex, Rihanna, Chris has been going through an emotional roller coaster — and unfortunately, it hasn’t been that great on him.
In October 2013, Chris was arrested for felony assault in Washington, D.C. along with his bodyguard. While he got it reduced to a misdemeanor, it quickly went downhill from there. Later that month he decided to go into rehab, and was expected to stay for three months. However, in November he as kicked out for acting violently and was sentenced to 90 days in anger management.
In December, his assault case was revoked, but he was not sent into custody. He finished his 90 days in anger management but was ordered to rehab in a Malibu facility until April — and if he left rehab he would go to jail. In March, he was kicked out of rehab and sent to jail after breaking the facility’s rules and allegedly having a relationship with a staff member.
On May 1, he attended a case in L.A. Superior Court, and was ordered to stay in jail until the 9th, while his lawyer negotiated a deal with the judge.
It’s not a secret that Chris has had a rough year — but we’re confident it will only go up from here. We’re also looking forward to the release of Chris’ new album, X, which was originally set to come out in 2013, but got pushed back due to legal problems. Plus, he will be collaborating with one of our favorites, Ariana Grande on a song called “Don’t Be Gone Too Long,” which will no doubt be incredible. Here’s to a better year for Chris!
