Julia Louis-Dreyfus, in character as ‘Veep’ Selina Meyer, teamed up with Vice President Joe Biden for a video in which they decide to ditch the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner. It’s the buddy-cop partnership we never knew we needed.
The 100th annual White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner was on May 3, and Selina Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) and Vice President Joe Biden decided to ditch it in an HBO-produced video featuring FLOTUS Michelle Obama and Speaker of the House John Boehner (or, as Selina called him, “J-Dawg”). Julia Louis-Dreyfus And President Joe Biden Ditch The White House Correspondents’ Dinner
In the 7-minute-long delight which kicked off the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, Selina and Joe cavort around D.C. in Joe’s ostentatious yellow convertible, starting in the President’s Oval Office — with Selina immediately planting herself in the President’s chair… right before she plants a copy of her book Some New Beginnings: An American Journey in Obama’s bookshelf.
Arguably, the best part of the video is when Selina and Joe are caught eating ice cream in the White House kitchen by Michelle Obama, who shames them for eating junk food. Immediately after they leave, Michelle dives in herself, but is interrupted when Selina returns because she forgot her purse. “I work out every day!” “Yeah, sure you do! I do, too!” “You wanna arm wrestle?” “I don’t really work out,” Selina admits.

Later, they head to the Washington Post headquarters to re-write headlines in their favor, such as “Biden Real Brains Of Operation, Obama Discloses,” and “Extremely Attractive VP, Biden, Creates Nine Million Jobs; America Elated.”
They also throw some shade at House Of Cards when Selina addresses the camera directly: “Yes, we can all look directly into the camera, Kevin. The point is, you’re not supposed to.”
Finally, they decide to hit up a tattoo parlor and get matching “45” tattoos on their forearms — you know, for the 45th President of the United States. Minority House Leader Nancy Pelosi is there, too, getting a tattoo of a gavel with “It’s gavel time!” written underneath. Just great.
What did you think of the video, HollywoodLifers? It was pretty packed with jokes — what was your favorite? Let us know!
