‘Duck Dynasty’ star Missy Robertson has revealed that she suffered a heartbreaking loss when she miscarried a baby in 2002. The child, which was conceived one year before their daughter Mia was born, would have been her and Jase’s third. Missy and Jase were already excited, and had prepared to start telling their family and friends when the tragedy happened. So sad.
Jase & Missy Robertson Reveal They Suffered A Miscarriage
One of the Duck Dynasty couples has definitely not had it easy when it comes to their children.
Although Missy and Jase’s first two children, Reed and Cole, were born without issue, they have sadly revealed that they lost a baby in 2002.
“I was about eight to 10 weeks along when I miscarried, just enough time to be excited about it and start telling everyone,” Missy shared in an interview with Closer Weekly.
The third pregnancy was ectopic, and after the miscarriage Missy had to have the baby removed by a doctor.
“I’d heard of tubal pregnancies for years, but didn’t really understand the mental anguish of actually having to go in and have someone remove what could’ve been your child. It was extremely difficult, and there was a lot of pain and bleeding,” Missy explained about the heartbreaking episode.
How sad. It is very brave of Missy to open up and tell her story now, though.
Missy & Jase Were Afraid They Couldn’t Have Any More Kids
Because Missy suffered a miscarriage at 30 years old, she was afraid that that meant she could no longer carry any more children. This was unsettling for her and Jase, because they had plans to continue expanding their family.
“I was only 30 when that happened and I thought, ‘Wait a minute, does this mean it’s over for me?’” Missy confessed.
Thankfully, the family pulled together and prayed for a miracle.
Just three months later, Missy found out she was pregnant with their daughter, Mia, who is now 10 years old.
