This is crazy. It looks like Columbus Short hasn’t quite finished with his reign of domestic terror! Despite a restraining order filed against him by his soon-to-be ex-wife, Tanee McCall-Short, the ex-‘Scandal’ actor broke into their home and ransacked the place over Easter weekend.
When Columbus Short, 31, threatened to kill his wife, Tanee McCall-Short, 33, at their Los Angeles home on April 7, the actress filed a restraining order against the ex-Scandal star immediately. Columbus was charged with not only criminal domestic violence but with child abuse, as well, as their 2-year-old daughter and Columbus’ son were also in the house. Well, over Easter weekend (around the 20th of April), Columbus broke into their once-shared home and totally ransacked the place, according to docs obtained by TMZ. Read on for all the scary details!
Columbus Short Turns Marital Home Upside Down Despite Restraining Order Placed By Wife Tanee McCall-Short
Tanee has filed new court docs claiming that Columbus broke into their home while she was away, according to TMZ. Not only is Columbus flat-out not allowed on the premises, according to the restraining order Tanee placed on him, but he turned the place upside-down for no real discernible reason other than what seems to be inherently violent tendencies.
Columbus allegedly “broke a door off its hinges, ripped off her bed sheets, left on a bunch of lights,” and “made her fear for her safety and the safety of their 2-year-old daughter,” TMZ is reporting.
Columbus Short Is Fighting The Restraining Order
Columbus is fighting the restraining order, insisting that he has the right to “come and go as he pleases because his name is on the lease,” reports TMZ. Meanwhile, he has essentially proved that he has no right to be anywhere near his wife or his daughter.
When the actor was asked about the domestic abuse charges by Roland Martin on News One Now, he bizarrely laughed them off, saying, “I don’t mean to laugh, but it just – it just sounded – it read outlandish and it sounds even more outlandish coming out of your mouth.” He continued, “Don’t believe everything you read.” Even if his wife’s allegations were false (which nobody believes for one second), Columbus has just dug his own grave by up-ending their once-shared home.
What do you think of these new charges, HollywoodLifers? Are you surprised by Columbus’ actions? Did you believe he was falsely accused before this incident? (We hope not!) Let us know.
