This is so heartbreaking. Five months after Paul’s tragic death on Nov. 29, his younger brother Cody got emotional while reminiscing about the late actor in a tearful new interview. Watch the sad video right here.
Cody Walker is understandably still devastated by the loss of his big brother Paul Walker. Even though it’s been five months since the Fast & Furious star passed away at the age of 40, Cody says it’s going to take years for his death to “feel real.”
Paul Walker’s Brother Chokes Up Remembering Him: Emotional New Interview
Poor Cody. It’s clear from his latest interview that the pain of losing Paul hasn’t lessened over the past several months.
“I know it’s going to take a while. It’s going to take a few years before it even feels real,” Cody says, as he fights back tears.
So sad. Even though he’s is still going through the grieving process, remembering Paul and his legacy seems to bring Cody some small comfort.
In the interview, he also talks about one of Paul’s last movies, Brick Mansions, which hits theaters today, April 25. You can tell from Cody’s small but significant smile that he is so proud of his brother’s accomplishments and of the great man that he was.
“He was just so low-key,” Cody says. “He just lived such a modest life.” Cody also revealed that Paul had been “jealous” of his brother’s “anonymity.” But perhaps Cody won’t be able to enjoy his anonymous lifestyle for long, now that he’s going to be featured in Fast & Furious 7.
‘Fast & Furious 7’: Paul Walker’s Brothers Will Complete His Scenes
Fast & Furious producers confirmed in a heartfelt note to fans on April 15 that they have decided to have Paul’s brothers, Caleb and Cody, finish his scenes in Fast 7.
The filmmakers took to the Fast & Furious 7 Facebook page to announced Caleb and Cody’s involvement in the flick:
The FAST & FURIOUS saga is about family. The characters are connected by the bond of family, and it is how all of us who have worked together for more than thirteen years feel about each other. It certainly defines how we feel about our fans.
Our family experienced an unthinkable shock in November. We had to take time to grieve Paul, the brother we love and lost, and to figure out if we should move on with our film.
We came together and all felt the only choice was to continue. We believe our fans want that, and we believe Paul would want that too. Paul had already shot his dramatic scenes and most of his action for FAST & FURIOUS 7, and it’s among the strongest work of his career.
We have resumed shooting and now welcome Paul’s brothers, Caleb and Cody, into our FAST family. Caleb and Cody are helping us complete some remaining action for their brother and fill in small gaps left in production. Having them on set has made us all feel that Paul is with us too.
We are just under a year away from the release of FAST & FURIOUS 7, and this film is the most important we’ve ever done together. It will allow the character of Brian O’Conner to live on and let us celebrate Paul in his most defining role.
We wanted to take a moment to speak to our fans directly and thank you for the love and support you always show us as we resume our work.
So what do you think, HollywoodLifers? Are you glad the Fast 7 producers have decided to include Paul’s brothers in the film? Did Cody’s new interview make you tear up? Let us know.
