Tom Hardy’s star has seriously taken off following his role as Bane in ‘The Dark Knight Rises.’ But with a new Batman coming into the fold, HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY asked the Hollywood hunk if he’s warming up to the idea. Read on to see what he had to say!
Tom Hardy, 36, looked clean shaven and extremely handsome at the April 22 NYC premiere of his latest flick, Locke. But because everyone still remembers Tom for his role as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, he was eager to tell HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY how he feels about Ben Affleck donning the crusader’s cape for the upcoming movie, Batman vs. Superman. As a bonus, Tom also chatted about his upcoming role where he will be portraying Elton John. Imagine that!
Tom Hardy: Which Batman Does He Prefer?
With Ben joining the ranks of movie Batmen, we asked Tom to choose his favorite. “I’ve already worked with Batman,” Tom said proudly at A24 and The Cinema Society’s screening. “Christian was my Batman, I’m very loyal.”
Tom and Christian were terrific together and hopefully someday we will be able to see them reunite in another movie together. That being said, Ben Affleck is so talented that a movie with him and Tom would be nothing short of amazing too. Maybe Bane could make a comeback?
Tom Hardy’s Upcoming Iconic Roles
Tom rose to fame in 2010 following his role opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in Inception followed by his portrayal as the iconic character Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. In his latest role, Tom plays Ivan Locke, a construction foreman who undergoes a life altering journey the night before the biggest moment of his career. The entire film, which was written and directed by Steven Knight, only took two weeks to shoot and was completely done within the confines of a BMW. Yes, we’re referring to the car.
Now his plate is extremely full with some pretty iconic roles coming up. He has been tapped to portray Elton John in Rocketman — even though he doesn’t quite have the pipes! “I can hold a tune like Sasquatch,” he joked to us, while adding that he wasn’t intimidated by the challenge: “It’s [not] ridiculous like Superman, I won’t be flying.”
Elton is not Tom’s only huge role coming up though. The handsome 36-year-old will also be pulling double duty as the Kray twins, who were illegal drug dealers during the fifties and sixties.
What do YOU think HollywoodLifers? Do you love Tom as much as we do? Are you surprised he chose Christian as his favorite Batman? Let us know!
