‘The Little Couple’ Recap: Jen Plans Fun Family Trip After Ending Chemo

Tue, April 15, 2014 10:30pm EST by 11 Comments

On the April 15 episode of ‘The Little Couple,’ the family heads to San Francisco for some much-needed bonding time. Just ten days after wrapping up her final round of chemotherapy, Jen heads to the west coast to serve as the final keynote speaker at a prestigious medical conference, while Bill and the kids go sight-seeing!

Dr. Jennifer Arnold is finally cancer-free and moving on with her life in a big way — with a family trip to San Francisco! Just days after finishing her final round of chemotherapy, Jen, husband Bill Klein, and their two kids, Will and Zoey, all head to the west coast for some family fun on the April 15 episode of The Little Couple.

Jen Heads To San Francisco To Be Keynote Speaker

After undergoing four months of chemotherapy, Jen was ready to get out of the house for awhile, and what better way to do that than by taking a family trip to San Francisco?

“For the last few months we’ve pretty much not left the house outside of going to the doctor to get Jennifer treated for her cancer,” Bill explains. “Now that Jennifer’s graduated from chemotherapy and on the road to recovery, of course she wants to dive both feet into work.”

Just ten days after her final round of chemo, Jen headed to The International Meeting For Simulation Healthcare, where she served as the closing keynote speaker.

“Having just finished chemotherapy and sort of being out of the world of work and not sort of feeling like I’m on my A-game makes me a little nervous about how it’s all going to end up. So to do something that is so important for work is a little scary right now,” Jen said.

Jen started off with a joke that she had “chemo briann” instead of “chemo brain”  — which unfortunately did not get the reaction from the crowd that she desired. However, the rest of her speech went off without a hitch!

“In the end I think the speech went really well, and it seemed to be really well received. Now that it’s over, it’s like a big weight has come off my shoulders,” Jen said.

Now that the speech was over — it’s time for a little family fun!

Jen, Bill, Zoey & Will Explore San Fran

While Jen was busy with her big speech, Bill and the kids hit up the Bay Area Discovery Museum for some fun!

Both Will and Zoey were all smiles while playing the xylophone and painting — which of course got messy when Will started to paint on his little sister’s shirt. The two were having so much fun that they didn’t even want to leave for lunch!

Finally able to spend some time together, our favorite family headed out to Ghirardelli Square for some ice cream! Then Zoey and Jen went shopping. The best moment of the episode was when Bill told Will that Jen had gone shopping and Will said, “Uh-oh” — how cute! Jen had a blast with her new little shopping buddy, who was eager to look around all of the stores.

On the last day of their trip, the family headed to the wharf and went on the spinning teacups. Zoey and Will were both smiling and giggling while Bill spun the teacup  until suddenly — Will lost the color in his face and got dizzy! Eek!

‘The Little Couple’ Go On First Family Vacation

If anyone deserved to have a vacation it was definitely Jen!

It was so nice to see that she could enjoy some quality times with her loved ones and start feeling like herself again.

“This was awesome. For sure this was the most fun I’ve had in a really long time. No stress, no agenda, chemo behind me, hopefully from here on out we will have lots more fun family times to look forward to. I mean, it doesn’t get any better than that,” Jen said.

We couldn’t agree more! We can’t wait to see what the rest of the season has in store now that Jen’s health is in the clear.

What do YOU think, HollyMoms? Should Jen have waited longer before traveling across the country? Are you loving this season of The Little Couple ? Let us know your thoughts below!

I think Bill and Jen Klein should just spend family time together with the children and stop doing reality shows about their lives. I thought showing her chemo treatments on TV was not cool, especially showing her leaving her hospital room ,going to other floors,, then leaving on a family trip to. also work on her speeches soon after treatment was nuts, and her knowing this as a Doctor , is really crazy. god bless this wonderful family ,,but it’s been good not even seeing the reruns of this great show lately. God bless this family .

No Jen knows her body and would realize when she needed to get some rest. She’s a fighter (like most of us moms) and sometimes seeing the joy in our children’s faces is the best medicine!!
