Malaya Watson seemed a little down after her performance on the April 9 episode of American Idol, which is crazy because normally she’s so “hype” (her words, famously), and she even told us that she “irritate[s] everybody!” How sad! No way can that be true. Read on for our full interview with Malaya for a glimpse at the behind-the-scenes dramarama that is Idol!
‘American Idol': Malaya Watson Says She ‘Irritate[s] Everybody’
Here’s our full Q&A with Malaya:
HollywoodLife.com: You look down.
Malaya Watson: I’m okay.
HL: How did you feel about tonight?
MW: It was cool. It was just cool.
HL: You’re very subdued.
MW: It’s all right, I guess.
HL: Was there something you wish had gone differently?
HL: Like what?
MW: The second half of the song.
HL: Really? I thought it sounded really good.
MW: I could have done better.
HL: Are you doing anything in particular to make sure you stay as healthy as you can?
MW: I stay in my room the whole time. Everybody hangs out with each other and notice everybody else is getting sick. I tend to stay up in my room with my parents, eat healthy, sleep, stuff like that, normal things. I don’t really hang out with a lot of people. I don’t get along, I irritate everybody, so I just stay by myself.
HL: Does it get stressful for you?
MW: Yeah, because I got school and this, then things back at home. Back at home it’s like hours away from here, so you have to worry about all this stuff, then at the same time you have to worry about picking the right song, hitting the right note, doing all that. You just have to know how to work with it and just be able to show America that you are all right.
‘American Idol’ Drama: Malaya Watson Doesn’t ‘Get Along’ With Everybody
We could never even conceive of a world where Malaya doesn’t get along with everybody! That is honestly so sad. We’re sure that she must have simply been a bit down, because her performance was fantastic, she is so charming and cool, and we just know that she’ll be back fighting in the Top 7!
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Are you surprised by this drama? How could anybody not like Malaya? Did you love her performance of Chaka Khan‘s “Through The Fire” on the April 9 episode?
