‘The Little Couple': Dr. Jennifer Arnold — Feeling Like Herself Again
On April 7 at the 6th annual Shorty Awards in New York City, The Little Couple‘s Jen won the Keep Good Going award for bringing awareness to cancer by sharing her scary experience on her show. The 40-year-old doctor and reality star spoke to HollywoodLife.com and showed us just how much of a trooper she is! While some would want to put their struggles behind them, Jennifer tackled hers head-on — as she always does.
“I’m really good. I am officially cancer-free,” Jen told HollywoodLife.com. She also updated us on what the next few years are going to be like for her now that she is in remission: “very, very close monitoring for the next two years,” Jen explained. “But knock on wood, hopefully [the cancer] stays [in remission].”
As of right now, Dr. Jen is solely focused on the fact that she is getting back into the swing of things. “I’m finally starting to get my energy back,” she explained, “So, it’s nice to start feeling like yourself again.”
Jennifer has admitted that the decision to share her cancer struggle was difficult to make.
“It was a hard decision to make. It took me a couple of months before I was ready to make it public,” she stated. However, the strong little lady is now glad that they decided to share their story.
“I always knew from the beginning that there would be a point when I should make it public because, first, it was a relief for me personally to get it out there but second, and most importantly, I was hoping that I could connect to other people that might be going through the same thing and hopefully help other people by sharing my story,” she continued.
“I’m pretty much an open book as a general person, so the idea of sharing my whole cancer experience was just one other chapter that I thought I need to share.”
Wow. Jen truly is an inspiration!
‘The Little Couple': Dr. Jennifer Arnold Gushes Over Her Children
Of course, we also had to ask Jen about her adorable children — Will and Zoey!
Naturally, she could not help but gush about her cute little tots.
“They are learning more in terms of speech which is great to hear for sure,” she revealed. “In fact, Will’s new word — which is not a good one — is ‘not.’ When I say ‘Will, let’s go and put on your shoes,’ he’s like, ‘I’m NOT, ‘” she explained. “He says it almost in a British accent and it’s the most adorable thing in the world.”
The happy doctor also revealed that little Will is very much in tune with all that has been going on with her health.
“He would tell me ‘mommy’s sick’ and he would understand ‘mommy doc,’” she stated. “When I take off my hair he’ll rub my head and he’ll be like, ‘mommy come here.'”
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Aren’t you so excited to hear that Jen is doing so well? And how adorable is baby Will? What a little old man. We love it. Sound off below!
