On the April 8 episode of ‘Teen Mom 2,’ there is so much going on! While Jenelle is busy bailing Nathan out of jail for his third DUI, Kailyn and Javi welcomed their son, Lincoln, into the world. Also, Leah finally talks Jeremy into couples counseling, and Chelsea allows Adam his first visitation weekend with Aubree.
Teen Mom 2 was packed with action on the April 8 episode! Kailyn Lowry gave birth, Jenelle Evans bailed Nathan Griffith out of jail, and Leah Messer convinced her husband Jeremy Calvert to go to couples counseling. Meanwhile, Chelsea Houska continues to struggle with Adam Lind having visitation rights with their daughter, Aubree.
Kailyn & Javi Welcome Baby Lincoln Into The Family
Kailyn and Javi are busy at work painting the nursery in their new house. It’s only a matter of time before Kailyn gives birth to their first baby together, and it looks like they know a boy is coming because they are painting the room blue! Instead of having fun with it, Kailyn is on completely edge because the house isn’t ready for the baby.
A few days later, Kailyn goes into labor in the middle of the night. Javi drives her to the hospital while her friend Paige tags along, and everyone seems really excited that the baby is finally on his way! Kailyn was brave enough to let the cameras in while she was in labor for sixteen hours, but they skip over Lincoln’s birth. After he is born, Javi goes to pick up Isaac so that he can meet his little brother, and Isaac has the most adorable reaction to the baby. First he argues with Kailyn that Lincoln is actually his baby, not hers, and then he tells her that Lincoln’s hair is “disgusting.” Too cute!
Once Kailyn and baby Lincoln are released from the hospital, they take him home for the first time. Isaac is incredibly sweet once Lincoln gets home, and he even gently rocks Lincoln’s chair while welcoming him home.
Finally, Kailyn reveals that even after her mom begged for a chance to be there when Lincoln was born, she never showed up. Instead, her mother has been drunk texting her and calling her at all hours of the night. Kailyn seems upset about it, but she also seems more concerned about moving forward and focusing on her two children. Later, Kailyn reveals that she asked her mom to stop calling her, and she did.
Kailyn’s friend Peach is awesome, because while Kailyn is catching up on sleep now that baby Lincoln is home, she shows up with two pizzas for the family to eat. What an incredible friend!
Jenelle’s Boyfriend Nathan Gets Into Big Trouble
On the previous episode of Teen Mom 2, Jenelle revealed to everyone that she was pregnant with her second child! The exciting news made her boyfriend Nathan very happy, especially since the couple was trying hard to have a baby together.
Since Jenelle’s mom says that Jace has been acting out physically lately, Jenelle enrolls him in karate in hopes it will teach him discipline. Of course, she also hopes it will get some of that hyperactive energy out of his tiny little system! During Jace’s first session, an instructor works with him one-on-one so that he’ll learn the basics, and Nathan and Jenelle both watch on from the sidelines with big smiles on their faces.
When Jenelle brings Jace home, Barbara Evans seems really excited that he is spending time with Jenelle and that she enrolled him in karate. Of course that doesn’t last long, because Barbara gets on Nathan and Jenelle’s case because they aren’t doing anything with their lives while they are expecting a baby. Barbara starts yelling at him, and instead of letting him speak to her, Nathan eventually leaves the house to avoid getting into another argument. After Nathan is gone, Barbara tells Jenelle that he’s a liar, and that every guy she’s ever been with has “sucked” her dry financially. If Barbara doesn’t start to trust Nathan and stop blaming him for the things Jenelle’s exes have done, this is just going to get worse.
In an unfortunate turn of events, Nathan gets his third DUI. Because he’s under the influence, he doesn’t listen when the police follow him into his own driveway, and when he gets out of the car they throw him on the front lawn and arrest him. Nathan only spends one night in jail before Jenelle bails him out. After Nathan is released, they sit down to talk about how Nathan needs to stay out of trouble, and they should focus on decorating their baby’s room to keep themselves busy.
Jenelle goes to visit Barbara and Jace again, and Barbara is really concerned about Nathan’s divorce. Jenelle explains that this is Nathan’s third DUI, but the last time he had one was when he lived in Jacksonville, Fla. over three years ago. Barbara starts lecturing Jenelle about Nathan’s mistake, and Jenelle tells her that she is not Nathan, and if he gets in trouble that’s on him and not on her. She also tells Barbara that she won’t bail him out again, and hopefully she’s right.
Leah & Jeremy Manage To Avoid Divorce
When we last saw Leah, she was telling a friend that Jeremy had mentioned they should get a divorce. Now, he’s back home from New Mexico, but apparently he saw text messages from Leah’s ex Corey Simms on her phone, and he stormed out of the house.
Thankfully Jeremy comes back, and he even opens up about how upset he is that Corey is texting her and saying that he misses her and his family. Leah explains to Jeremy that no matter what Corey sends her, she loves Jeremy, and she wishes he would go to counseling with her so they could open up to each other more.
Finally, Jeremy agrees and asks Leah to find someone for them to talk to because he doesn’t want to lose his family. It’s really great to see that these two are trying to work things out. They are such a wonderful couple, and it would be a shame to see them split up over silly things that can be worked out.
Later on, Leah meets up with Corey to give him some paperwork. Corey starts asking about Jeremy being home again, and he admits that he’s happy her life is easier when Jeremy is around. They both start to talk about the past again, and Corey admits that the divorce sucks because he doesn’t get to see his girls every day. Then, they start to talk about their relationship, and how things may have worked out differently if they had both been more mature. Leah admits that Jeremy has issues with her talking to Corey so much, and he even mentions that it is probably difficult for his wife, Miranda Simms, too. Even though this is slightly awkward for everyone involved, Leah and Corey do such a good job talking to each other and co-parenting their two beautiful little girls. It’s because of their strong bond that they are able to do so, so hopefully they continue to work together.
The next time we see Leah, she and Jeremy join Corey at Ali and Alleah’s gymnastics class so that they can take them back home afterwards. Watching the two little girls running around and dancing is so cute, and it’s really nice to see both girls enjoying themselves. Once the girls are packed in the car with Leah and Jeremy, she mentions that she doesn’t like when Jeremy “gangs up” on her with Corey. She seems to think that Jeremy feels awkward around Corey, and that’s why he always acts so weird.
After he is home for a while, Leah shares that her and Jeremy have been getting along a lot better. Jeremy admits that he’s concerned he is missing so much of their daughter’s life when he is working so far away. The argument about his career choice is still very relevant, but Leah hopes that going to counseling will really help them move forward.
Chelsea & Adam Have Awkward Encounters
Chelsea and her ex Adam Lind settled their visitation battle over Aubree out of court, so when he shows up at Aubree’s pre-school pageant it’s super awkward. Of course it probably didn’t have to be awkward, but Chelsea’s behavior doesn’t help the situation much. Adam brings along his newborn daughter Paislee, and when Aubree tries to get Chelsea to come meet her little sister, Chelsea avoids it. However, watching Aubree with her baby sister is just precious!
When Adam comes over to say hi like a mature adult, Chelsea’s mom Mary is very friendly and even appears excited to see him. Instead of engaging in conversation, Chelsea just stands there awkwardly and gives him an uncomfortable “hi” when he starts walking away. Eek. Sometimes she really does this to herself!
After the pageant, both Adam and Chelsea help Aubree make a snowman. Of course, they argue over it while doing so, but eventually Aubree’s snowman is complete. I guess they both get credit for trying.
Later on, Chelsea tells her friend Megan that she is totally over Adam. She even says that she thinks they were “fine” during Aubree’s pageant. Hopefully this is true, because Chelsea really needs to move on and start co-parenting with Adam instead of just taking charge all of the time.
Chelsea has started her new job at a salon, but she still isn’t license. Even though she’s started, she hasn’t been able to do much because she has to take a test to get board certified. Her boss is very excited about her being licensed, because she really wants Chelsea to start doing more invasive procedures. It’s really awesome that Chelsea found someone to work for that has so much confidence in her.
It’s the first weekend Aubree is going to stay with Adam’s parents for visitation after they settled outside of court. Chelsea’s dad brings Aubree to her salon, and then Adam’s mom comes to pick her up from there. The agreement is that Aubree gets to stay at Adam’s parents, and he is allowed to visit with her only when his parents are present. After Aubree comes home for the weekend, she tells Chelsea that Adam was only there for a few hours. Chelsea seems more upset that he brought Taylor and Paislee with him, but there’s no reason Adam shouldn’t be able to spend time with his entire family as one.
To make matters worse, Adam changed his phone number and refuses to give it to Chelsea, which causes them to get in an argument on Facebook.
On the other hand, Adam tells his girlfriend, Paislee’s mom, Taylor Halbur, that it was a little awkward.
Hopefully these two get their acts together!
