Love is in the air at the Duggar household! On the April 8 double-header episodes of ’19 Kids and Counting’, Michelle and Jim Bob accompany Jessa on her date with Ben. The kids plan a sweet surprise for their supportive parents.
Jessa Duggar, 21, was accompanied by Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar on her date on 19 Kids and Counting latest episode, and she’s not the only one! Jill, 22, was chaperoned on her Skype date with a potential courter — so do her parents approve? Keep reading to find out!
Michelle And Jim Bob Accompany Jessa On Date
Jessa and Ben were accompanied on a mini-golf date by Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar who gave Ben the third degree about his courtship with Jessa — everyone’s worst dating nightmare! However, the two couples seemed to have a good time together laughing and getting to know more about Ben who they definitely approve of!
Ben and Jessa seem to be on the same page regarding where their relationship is going. As Ben explained, the couple plans to save their first kiss for a special occasion — their wedding day!
“It’s better to almost be a little safe and a little strict then not be safe enough and have regrets later,” Ben says. “We are thinking maybe we give each other side hugs when we greet each other. As far as physical contact goes, that’s probably good enough for now.”
It was really great to see that Jessa and Ben both were excited to go on the double date! Ben was of course a little nervous, and his golf game was definitely impacted by the nerves, but he made his intentions clear and Jim Bob and Michelle definitely approved. The adorable couple really seem to be taking their time getting to know each other.
Anna Builds A Playhouse For Mackynzie, Michael And Marcus
Anna and Josh have been living in Washington D.C for several months and are far away from Arkansas, but make sure to talk about their large family every day.
Josh surprises the kids with a playhouse, which Anna is left to build while he is at work. Mackynzie and Michael were adorable and a big help to their mom, who was a bit skeptical about her own building abilities. Anna embraced the challenge saying, ”This may take all day, but my kids are getting their energy out and they are going to sleep good tonight.”
Anna also took on the role of homeschooling Mackynzie, four-years-old, who is not so sure that school is for her. Learning how to write the alphabet, Mackynzie says that school “is boring,” but it seems that she has a change of heart when Anna tells her that is it break time, and Mackynzie insists that she continue doing school work!
Jill Confesses To Being In Love
Back in Arkansas, Jill, 22, has a Skype date with Derek Dillard that is chaperoned by Michelle and Jim Bob. The smile on Jill’s face when she was talking to Derek, who is currently in Nepal for work, definitely belonged to a girl in love. The two have been in contact for three months and met through an unlikely source — Jim Bob!
Jill describes Jim Bob and Derek’s relationship as a ”bromance.” Derek contacted Jim Bob over a year ago to ask if he would serve as his prayer partner — talk about having dads approval! Dad clearly knows best, we love that Jim Bob introduced these two, though they have not met in person, they seem to be a great match.
While they have yet to meet face-to-face, Jill plans to ask her parents to take a trip to meet Derek. ”I think I’m in love with someone I’ve never met. But the only way to know for sure is to actually meet him in person and so I was wondering if maybe we could plan a trip to go visit him in Kathmandu, Nepal.”
Jill is one lucky girl who is blessed with some majorly supportive parents! Jim Bob is totally behind his daughter going to meet Derek, and is willing to go with her so she can finally meet the man she loves.
The Kids Plan A Sweet Surprise
At the end of the episode, all of the kids hold a meeting and decide that they need to do something special for their supportive parents. They all agree on putting on a dinner theater show with the youngest Duggars planning to learn and sing a new song.
Joy Anna took the lead with teaching the new song, ”Jesus Loves Me.” We cannot wait to see what else the kids come up with to surprise their parents. Joy got so frustrated that she even called in Jana for backup.
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Would you have liked to go on a double date with you parents? Do you think that Jessa and Ben make a good couple? Will Jill finally meet Derek in person?
