‘The Voice’: Shocking Eliminations End Battle Rounds — Watch

The final night of the Round Two Battles has arrived, which means the competition is fierce! Major frontrunners were sent home, but the best of the rest stuck around. The battle rounds are over and we’ve reached the Top 20!

The Voice battle rounds have officially wrapped for Season 7. It was Chris Martin‘s last night, but he wasn’t the only one to go home tonight. Clarissa SernaBria KellyMadilyn Paige, Kaleigh Glanton and Jake Barker all took the stage tonight. So who made the cut? Keep reading to find out, plus WATCH Bria and Madilyn’s final battle.

A Frontrunner Is Sent Home Early On

The final night of the Round Two Battles kicked off with Clarissa Serna singing against Dani Moz. The Team Shakira girls belted out Pink‘s “Perfect.” So who was the closest to perfect? Dani! “If Dani’s come this far over the last couple of rounds,” said Shakira, “I can’t wait to see what she’s going to be capable of doing.”

Clarissa’s send-off was shocking — she didn’t even get a steal! But this is the Round Two Battles, and the competition is stiff. “I appreciate all of you guys for turning for me from the get go,” Clarissa said, reminding us that she was a frontrunner from the beginning of the season.

The Rest Of The Best

Next up was real-life couple, duo Dawn & Hawkes and soloist Kat Perkins. The three singers sang “Suddenly I See,” and the combination of the soulful indie duo versus the strong-voiced rocker chick made for an enjoyable performance. Adam Levine said that Kat was one of the most underrated singers of the competition, and therefore, she was the winner! We’ll miss Dawn & Hawkes. It was so much fun to watch a duo on the show.

Melissa Jimenez and Music Box took the stage next with Alicia Keys‘ “Girl On Fire.” Both ladies’ powerful voices harmonized beautifully together, but whose performance was on fire? Melissa’s! Usher chose the Latino pop star singer to stick around on his team.

Another Female Standout Is Sent Home!

Another leading lady was next up, Kaleigh Glanton. Kaleigh shared the spotlight with garbage man Ryan Whyte Maloney who sang “Easy” with her. Ryan’s range really stood out during the entire performance, and while Kaleigh was, of course, impressive, she seemed a bit nervous. “I’ve got to go with just overall consistency,” Blake Shelton said, before selecting Ryan. “He comes out here everything with just 150% confidence…this is going to be a lot of fun to work with him.”

Although Blake was so proud to have Ryan on his team, sending home Kaleigh was not an easy choice. “I think, Kaleigh, she’s so much better in rehearsals than she is standing out here in the middle of this,” Blake said. “I think if she could ever get to where she can control her nerves, she’ll be unstoppable.” We think so, too. Good luck, Kaleigh!

Two Contestants Take On Usher’s Song

File this one under nerve wracking! Jake Barker and Brittnee Camele took on Usher’s hit song, Climax. Usher even said that he wanted to challenge himself when he put this song on his own record — it’s a toughie! In true Usher form, the show-off sang his very own song perfectly from the judges’ panel. (We love you, Usher!)

Blake took a stab at Usher next. “Jake, that is a low blow to wear Usher’s shoes out here, and sing one of his songs,” Blake joked, referencing Usher’s infamous metallic shoes. He also made sure to compliment Jake on his falsetto and rasp, which stunned the judges. “It’s really unique.”

In the end, Jake walked away the winner. And to think, it all started with a steal from coach Adam! There’s just something about that kid that the judges (and we) love so much!

Blake Ends The Night With A Steal

At this point, Blake is the only coach with a remaining steal. He is saving the best for last! Team Usher’s Madilyn Paige and Bria Kelly took the last spot of the Round Two Battles. (We are so happy that Blake has a steal because we cannot imagine the competition going on without either of these teen queens).

Bria and Madilyn wowed with an amazing rendition of “I’ll Stand By You.” Seriously, how are these girls teenagers?

The coaches were extremely critical, admitting to both girls that their performance was not the best it could be. However, Usher complimented both young ladies for their talent and potential, and had a rough time choosing who to keep under his wing. He ultimately kept Bria on his team.

But, Blake came in for the steal! Madliyn will also make it to the playoffs, now on Team Blake! “I’m so grateful,” said a teary-eyed Madilyn. “Thank you so much!”

HollywoodLifers, who were you most sad to see sent home tonight? And who is your favorite of the Top 20? Let us know if you’re excited for the playoffs!
