The April 6 episode of Revenge was the beginning of grand finale that is sure to be epic. New information was revealed, a familiar face returned and a fan-favorite couple reunited! Let’s get to it!
‘Revenge’ Recap: Trip Down Memory Lane
After learning that his father had a connection to Pascal (Olivier Martinez) and the whole Flight 197 debacle, Aiden (Barry Sloane) and Emily (Emily VanCamp) were on the move for more information. Aiden’s father was the one who planted the bomb on the plane in order to save Colleen. However, the guilt consumed him and he committed suicide when Aiden was 12. Nolan had already hacked into his father’s record, but nothing led to Pascal. So, Emily and Aiden decided to take a road trip.
Emily and Aiden ventured to Aiden’s mom’s house to find out more information about his father. To please his mother, they pretended to be engaged. Aiden hadn’t seen his mother in eight years and she didn’t want to talk about her past.
During their visit, Emily talked with Aiden’s mom. Mrs. Mathis told Emily that she was marrying a man with the broken heart of a 12-year old boy. Aiden was damaged. She was happy that he’d found happiness with her, but she still didn’t know that Colleen was dead.
Aiden hadn’t been back to his father’s shed since the suicide. Emily pleaded with him to tell his mother that Colleen was dead. During their heart-to-heart, Aiden discovered a name engraved on a piece of wood in the workshop — Oscar Chapman.
Emily said goodbye to Mrs. Mathis and left Aiden to break his mother’s heart. He told his mother that he and Emily weren’t together. She was the only one he’d trust by his side. He just wanted to give her one semblance of happiness. He also confessed to her everything about Colleen’s kidnapping and death.
‘Revenge’ Recap: Blast From The Past
Upon reuniting in the last episode, Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) and Pascal were blissfully happy. Both Victoria and Pascal were dealing with their prospective enemies in Emily and Conrad (Henry Czerny). Pascal also had to deal with Margaux (Karine Vanasse) and her continued whining. Pascal had decided he was stepping down in two years and was grooming Margaux’s brother to take over the business, much to her dismay. Margaux blasted him about all her hard work and he basically laughed at her for thinking she could have both a career and a home life.
In her latest attempt to find out what Emily was up to, Victoria went to visit Mason Treadwell (Roger Bart)! She wanted to talk about Emily, but Mason said he was only going to talk if he became a free man by the end of the month.
Mason called Emily immediately and wanted to renegotiate their deal. He had new leverage — Victoria — and was willing to use it. He threatened her that if she didn’t show him her new hand in 24 hours, he would show his to Victoria.
Emily dialed up Nolan (Gabriel Mann) and Jack (Nick Wechsler) about her Mason predicament. However, Charlotte (Christa B. Allen) showed up, poking her head in where it didn’t belong. Nolan and Jack cut off the conversation and blew Charlotte off when she started asking about Emily.
Mason also had new council in none other than Stevie Grayson (Gail O’Grady). He didn’t want to cut a deal, he just wanted to know Emily’s game plan.
Victoria went to Conrad to tell him to stop blackmailing Mason because she needed him out of jail. Conrad scoffed at her demand and said, “As long as Emily is your enemy, she’s an ally to me.”
‘Revenge’ Recap: Work & Play
Charlotte was furious at Daniel (Joshua Bowman) for using her to turn Margaux against Jack. He apologized, but Charlotte was still helping Jack move into his new house. Daniel was still adamant about Jack and Emily’s relationship.
Daniel found Margaux stewing over Pascal’s latest announcement. Daniel tried to calm Margaux down and tell her father to stick it. Things got a little too heated and it looked like Daniel was trying to move in on Margaux. Jack was watching the whole thing and even he noticed something was up. Jack questioned her and she said she didn’t like jealous men. (Hypocrite much, Margaux?) Daniel even went to Pascal and tried to tell him that Margaux was basically the bomb. Later, Pascal loosened up and told Margaux that he would hand over the company to her. Margaux wanted to share the good news with Daniel. There was some major eye-flirting happening on both ends. Are Daniel’s motives pure? (Probably not. But a girl can dream.)
Javier (Henri Esteve) and Nolan weren’t exactly getting along in terms of their new contract. Nolan owned 70% of the company and Javier wasn’t having that. Nolan tried to tell him that he was carrying all the financial risk so it had to be this way. Javier met up with Charlotte and lamented about his contract with Nolan. He started mentioning that Nolan only jumped for Emily and this set Charlotte off. They both started talking about all the men at Emily’s beck and call. She does have quite a list.
‘Revenge’ Recap: Mason Dies! Or Does He?
Mason was now a loose cannon and had to be taken care of. As he was putting on his face cream, he started choking and died!
Victoria visited Stevie and told her about Mason’s untimely death. Victoria wanted her to talk and even brought a bottle of liquor to persuade her. Stevie was shocked and at her most vulnerable when Victoria left her.
Later, Jack found Stevie drinking in her room. She said she was in over her head and wanted to leave. Jack said she was coming to his house, but she didn’t want to be the first bad memory at his new home. She wanted Jack to leave with her and bring Emily with her. Jack said Emily couldn’t leave and neither could he. Then, Stevie let it slip that Daniel was right, Jack did love Emily. (You’re preaching to the choir, Stevie.)
Over at the cottage, Aiden thanked Emily for all her help. He thought the whole trip was a waste of time, but she reminded him that he reconnected with his mother. Then, they kissed and it was amazing. (Yay!)
In other news, Mason wasn’t actually dead! Mason woke up in a body bag and Nolan was there to tell him what happened. Emily had planted a Japanese face cream that contained an herb that faked death for 12 hours. Mason was now a part of Emily’s master plan and he was to go straight to the Maldives. However, before he left, Nolan wanted information about Oscar Chapman.
After a romantic reconciliation, Emily and Aiden talked. Emily got a call and learned that Oscar Chapman had faked his own death. This meant that there’s a chance he can put the pieces together about Pascal’s connection to Flight 197!
