No matter how much chanting fans did at the Superdome in New Orleans on April 6, CM Punk wasn’t going to appear at WrestleMania. However, there’s a general idea of why he didn’t show — and it has a lot to do with the Undertaker’s streak being broken.
If The Undertaker was going to lose after 21 plus years, why not have a legend like CM Punk be the one to break it? Well, that’s the thought circling social media after his streak was broken at WrestleMania 30 to Brock Lesner.
CM Punk Skipped WrestleMania
If you looked at Twitter during the WrestleMania XXX PPV, you’d see a common theme — CM Punk, 35, should have been the one to beat The Undertaker. So, why didn’t he even come to the championship battle?
With Brock Lesnar taking down The Undertaker, it may have just been the last straw for CM Punk.
Not only were fans upset that CM Punk wasn’t there during the show, they were more upset that a “part-timer” took the biggest streak in WWE.
WrestlingFans’ Facebook page posted the following:
Still can’t get over Brock Lesnar beaten the streak. If they wanted the streak to end why not let CM Punk end it last year? Not a part timer like Brock Lesnar. The only 3 men who deserved to beat that Streak were Triple H, Shawn Michaels and I hate to say it.. But John Cena. John Cena vs Undertaker in takers final match would of ment soo much more than a loss to Brock Lesnar.
So, did he really not go because he wanted to be the one to take down The Undertaker? Read some more fan reactions below on CM Punk skipping it all, then let us know — should CM Punk have returned?
Only people that should have ended the streak was HBK or Cm punk

CM Punk left WWE because of this crap uno. Punk could have been the one to beat Taker, not a part timer

Hey @WWE just because you said “the list goes on and on” doesn’t mean we forgot he beat CM Punk.
