WrestleMania welcomed a new class of inductees into the Hall of Fame on April 5. Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts — one of the seven members in the class gave a heartfelt and emotional speech that stunned the crowd.
WrestleMania took over Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on April 5 to welcome in a new class of seven to it’s Hall of Fame. Inductee, Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts‘ opened up about his struggle with drugs and alcohol and thanked fellow WWE professional, Diamond Dallas Page for helping him get healthy again.
Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts’ Emotional Acceptance Speech
Since 2004, WrestleMania has been welcoming in new members to its Hall of Fame, this year seven members including Jake Roberts were accepted into the Hall of Fame.
In his emotional acceptance speech in front of 10,000 wrestling fans, Jake thanked his friend,roommate and fellow WWE wrestler, Diamond Dallas Page for helping him get back on track. The two friends lived together back in 1994 and recently moved back in together so Diamond could help Jake get his life back on track after falling victim to drugs and alcohol.
Jake wanted to be healthy in time for the ceremony — and he succeeded. According to Nola.com, Jake opened up about his struggle and the one man who reached out to help him.
“But one person sticks a hand out (to help)” Jake said, “And that person was Diamond Dallas Page. Dallas is the most positive son of a gun on this planet. Dallas saved my life. And I’m so grateful.”
We are so pleased that the wrestler is back on track thanks to his good friend!
”I’m so happy because I’ve got some special people here called family. They gave me a second chance. And the WWE gave me one too,” Jake added.

We are so happy to hear that Jake is healthy again thanks to the help of Diamond. We are really impressed that Jake was able to open up and be so honest about his struggle — it takes a lot of courage to admit something so personal in front of so many people. Congratulations to Jake and the rest of the inductees!
