It’s been far too long since the clones have infiltrated our TV screens, but we’ll forgive BBC America because they just released an awesome new ‘Orphan Black’ trailer. Click to WATCH!
Welcome back to the Clone Club! Not only are the clones multiplying in Orphan Black Season 2, but so is the intensity. Tatiana Maslany returns as Sarah Manning and her nine clones (seriously, somebody give this girl an Emmy), and we can’t wait. Keep reading for brand new footage from the upcoming season, plus insight from Tatiana.
‘Orphan Black’ Season 2 — Watch New Trailer
“One thing that I love about this show is that not only do each of the clones’ worlds have a really unique tone to them, but each episode itself,” says Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany, in a brand new promo for the upcoming season. We couldn’t agree more, but as for the newly-released trailer, there’s only one tone: intense.
In the never-before-seen Season 2 footage, we see Sarah smacking Paul (Dylan Bruce), and putting Cosima (Tatiana Maslany) into fatal danger, as she’s shutting down the test, which could be Cosima’s only way to recover from her illness.
Executive producers and co-creators, John Fawcett and Graeme Manson, also spoke up about the new season and the many characters, specifically Sarah and Cosima. “Cosima’s in a really tough place,” says co-executive producer Graeme. “She’s sick. She’s one of my favorite characters, along with Sarah. Sarah’s going to bring the heat and bring the pain. Our world has expanded a little bit with Sarah on the run.”
Graeme adds, “We have big plans for all of our characters this season. We’ve got a lot of ground and a lot of different stories to cover.”
Tatiana Maslany Talks About Upcoming Season And New Clone
The women behind all of those different stories is Tatiana Maslany. “We deal with horror, we deal with relationships, the intimacy of relationships, we deal with science,” says Tatiana. “It’s like we’re shooting a different movie every time we come to set.”
And she’s about to shoot even more “movies” with a new clone coming to town, as HollywoodLife.com previously reported.
Jennifer Fitzsimmons, a 28-year-old teacher and a swim coach is Tatiana’s newest character who joins the Clone Club in Season 2. Like Cosima, Jennifer also falls very ill and it looks pretty creepy.
“It’s like getting a new character, like doing another film or something,” Tatiana told Entertainment Weekly.
The second season of Orphan Black premieres Saturday, April 19 at 9/8c on BBC America.
