Willard Scott Married — ‘Today’ Show Star Weds Longtime Love At 80
Today show host Matt Lauer announced the good news during his April 2 broadcast, saying, “Yesterday, Willard Scott and his longtime partner Paris Keena tied the knot. Willard and Paris have been together for about 11 years. Congratulations to the both of you. We love you both.” How sweet!
Willard met Paris in 1977 while she was working for WRC, NBC’s Washington affiliate. The two stayed in touch on and off for years, splitting their time between Florida, Virginia and Connecticut.
Willard worked on the Today show as the weatherman from 1980 to 1996, when he went into semi-retirement and turned the job over to his protege Al Roker. The veteran weatherman still looms large on the show, and he continues to wish fans a happy birthday from the Fort Myers studio, in a longtime segment famously sponsored by Smucker’s jellies.
Willard was previously married to Mary Dwyer Scott from 1959 until her death in 2002.
