One of the funniest women in the game is returning for season two of ‘Inside Amy Schumer,’ and getting herpes in a new skit!
Season two of Inside Amy Schumer premieres on April 1, and Amy Schumer is ready to take the comedy world by storm once again. The comedian, who came in fourth place on season five of Last Comic Standing, has a ton of celebs starring on her new season, including Paul Giamatti, who plays God himself! Watch the hilarious skit here.
Amy Schumer Returns To TV With Season 2 Of ‘Inside Amy Schumer’
In the skit, which will be featured in season two, Amy gets a call from a friend who informs her that a guy they know has herpes. Naturally, she lies to her BFF and says that they’ve never hooked up.
When she hangs up, she begins freaking out, then talking to God, praying that she doesn’t have herpes, and in comes God — AKA Paul Giamatti. He explains that in order for him to not give her herpes, she has to do something for him to even out the universe — except she doesn’t want to do anything: no she won’t even promise to call her mom more, she’d rather have herpes.
So at the end, she needs to make the calls to the past men she’s slept with to inform them, and can’t even do that — so God pretends to be her and does it for her. It’s hysterical and the best part of it all is that she’s eating shrimp and singing “Since You Been Gone” to the shrimp!
Amy Schumer Was Nervous For Season 2 Until She Talked To Lena Dunham
While she’s absolutely hilarious, the 32-year-old comedian still got nervous that season two wouldn’t live up to the first.
“The first time we were in the writer’s room again [there] was a crippling fear and self doubt,” she told The Daily Beast. “I filmed an episode of Girls this season and I was on set and I asked Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner, I was just like, ‘Hey when you guys did your second season…’ and they were like, ‘Yeah. We thought we were gonna die. But then you do it and you’re like, Oh, ok.’ So that encouraged me. And then when we were in the writer’s room again and people were running great ideas I felt a little more confident.”
We’re sure it’s going to be great! Tune in on April 1 to see the premiere of season two of Inside Amy Schumer on Comedy Central at 10:30 PM ET.
