It was definitely a good night for Selena! Not only did she beat Taylor, but she also avoided being slimed when she took the stage to pick up her award.
Selena was as gorgeous and gracious as ever, thanking her adoring fans in an emotional acceptance speech.
“You guys have been the most loyal, dedicated people in my life because you continuously every year bless me with the opportunity to do what I love,” Selena said. “Thank you and this is for you.”
We’re so happy for Selena! And even though she would never admit it, we can’t help but think that she took just a little bit of satisfaction from beating Taylor.

Taylor and Selena were once the very best of friends but they’ve been on the outs ever since Selena decided to reunite with her boyfriend Justin Bieber, 20. Unfortunately Taylor’s hatred for the bad boy singer has damaged her friendship with Selena. In fact, things between the former BFFs have gotten so bad that they’ve decided to “take a break,” a source revealed EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com.
“They did not leave it on good terms — it’s very icy,” the source told us. “They both decided they need space.”
