On March 25, Nicole Kidman made an appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ to promote her upcoming film, ‘The Railway Man.’ During the interview, she referred to her daughter Sunday Urban, 5, as her ‘oldest.’ Did Nicole just make a mistake, or is she so estranged from her 21-year-old adopted daughter Isabella Cruise that she no longer mentions her?
Nicole Kidman called her daughter, Sunday Urban, 5, her oldest daughter — even though her adopted daughter, Isabella Cruise, is now 21 years old.
Nicole Kidman — Estranged From Isabella Cruise?
During her March 25 interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the actress spoke about her two biological daughters as if she had no other children.
“My oldest daughter says ‘I don’t want to go and watch daddy play,'” she shared. “I’m like ‘Sunday, at least act a little enthusiastic.'”
That’s weird, because Isabella is definitely Nicole’s oldest daughter. Does she not consider Isabella to be her child anymore? Weird.
Could Scientology Be To Blame?
Nicole and Tom Cruise, Isabella’s father, divorced in 2001. Shortly after the divorce, it was clear that both Isabella and her brother, Connor Cruise, sided with their father. This is one of the reasons Tom was awarded full custody of the children.
In 2013, Nicole spoke of Connor and Isabella’s commitment to Scientology, a religion she does not partake in. When the THR reporter brought up the topic, Nicole originally tried to change the subject.
“My eye is going to a dress here — that’s how interested I am in this,” Nicole said sarcastically.
However, when she was pushed for an answer, she made sure to support both of her children.
“I have two children who are Scientologists — Connor and Isabella — and I utterly respect their beliefs,” Nicole said pointedly.
