No one is safe on ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’ Just ask the ghosts of Chyler Leigh, Eric Dane, T.R. Knight and Jeffrey Dean Morgan! And now two more series regulars are set to depart the hit ABC show by the end of the season!
Grey Sloan Memorial will need to hire some new doctors very soon! A new report claims that Tessa Ferrer and Gaius Charles, who play docs Leah Murphy and Shane Ross on the hit show, will be hanging up their stethoscopes for good by season’s end. Read on to find out why they’re getting the boot!
‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Will Say Goodbye To Leah & Shane
Sandra Oh won’t be the only series regular leaving Grey’s Anatomy at the end of season 10. Two other series regulars — Tessa Ferrer and Gaius Charles — are also confirmed to exit the hit series at the end of the current season, according to our sister site Deadline.
Both characters got involved romantically with people who are no longer available on the show. Charles’ Shane was linked for a short time with Sandra Oh’s character Cristina Yang, but with Oh leaving the show by season’s end, there’s no chance they’ll get back together. Meanwhile, Leah initially seemed like she was headed for a relationship with Arizona (Jessica Capshaw), but Arizona decided to work on her marriage with Callie (Sara Ramirez), so there goes that idea!
‘Grey’s Anatomy’: Is This The Last Time We’ll See Shane & Leah?
While we know for certain that Charles and Tessa’s contracts have not been renewed, it is still not known whether the actors will return as guest stars for the 11th season.
One person who will be returning, however, is Isaiah Washington. The former regular will return to the series seven years after he was fired for making anti-gay remarks directed at co-star T.R. Knight. Washington’s character Dr. Preston Burke was romantically involved with Oh’s character Cristina Yang on the show’s first season and he’ll be back to give Oh’s character a proper sendoff.
HollywoodLifers, are you sad to see Tessa and Gaius go? Are you excited for the return of Isaiah Washington? Dish in the comments!
