‘Teen Wolf’ Creator Jeff Davis: ‘Death Happens And Everyone Else Is Left Behind’

Funnily enough, in our post about the shocking death on The Good Wife, we likened it to Allison’s. Well, in Jeff’s interview with Andy Swift from TVLine on March 25, he also brought up The Good Wife! When asked about his choice to kill Allison off rather than send her away, Jeff told the outlet:

“We’d debated it many different ways, actually. The show is growing up, and it’s just like what they did on The Good Wife; it’s shocking and it changes the show. Death happens and everyone else is left behind. It spins the characters and the story in new directions. To be honest, we struggled to think of a reason why Allison would leave Beacon Hills. This was more true to her character. She’s not the kind of person who would just say, ‘OK, guys, I’m out of here. Take care.’ It was a powerful, painful moment. “

‘Teen Wolf’ Shocker: Daniel Sharman May Not Return For Season 4

Jeff made the point that a lot of fans have brought up — that Allison wouldn’t simply leave her friends behind in the midst of all the supernatural terrorism afflicting Beacon Hills. However, remember when she vacationed in Paris with her father prior to the start of Season 3A? Well, couldn’t she have done the same after the events of Season 3B and then decided to stay? Hey, Paris has werewolves, too!

‘Teen Wolf’ Creator Jeff Davis: ‘If We’d Known Colton Was Going To Leave … I’m Not So Sure He Would Have Survived’

While praising Crystal for going to him at the beginning of the season with her desire to be written out, Jeff also threw a little shade Colton Haynes‘ way…

“To be honest, if we’d known Colton was going to leave after Season 2, I’m not so sure he would have survived. I have the utmost respect for Crystal, who sat me down and told me she was ready to move on and try new things. I’m proud of her and feel very fortunate to have had an actress like that.”

‘Teen Wolf’: Why Crystal Reed Is ‘Really Sad’ Over Allison Argent Death

Are you reading between the same lines that we are? Looks like Jeff still remembers — and hasn’t quite forgiven — Colton’s choice to leave in between seasons. Hey, we also deeply feel the loss of Jackson Whittemore’s glorious, shirtless, snarky presence!

What do you think of Jeff Davis’ reasoning, HollywoodLifers? Still bitter? It’s OK if you are — but with the return of Kate Argent (Jill Wagner) at least we’ll have another badass — albeit evil — Argent back from the dead and in our lives for Season 4! Vote and comment below! (I can’t overstate how much I love to hear from you, Teen Wolf fans.)
