The season finale of ‘Duck Dynasty’ chronicles the heartfelt days before Jase and Missy’s daughter Mia’s surgery. The entire Robertson family rallies around her as the little girl bravely prepares to go under the knife for the facial condition she’s had since birth.
On the March 26 episode of Duck Dynasty, Jase and Missy Robertson’s little girl has to go through her fifth major surgery. Thankfully, she is a total champ throughout the entire ordeal. Instead of hanging around and feeling bad for herself, 11-year-old Mia Robertson asks for some “family time” so that she can spend the day enjoying herself.
Jase & Missy’s Daughter Mia Prepares For Surgery
Duck Dynasty usually serves as some sort of comic relief, however, on the March 26 season finale episode of the hit show, things take a much more serious turn. Jase and Missy Robertson’s 11-year-old daughter, Mia, has to undergo surgery in order to repair a facial cleft she has had since she was a baby.
In a clip posted on the A&E website, Jase accurately describes his fearless daughter.
“My daughter Mia is having her fifth surgery, ” he announced. “She’s a tough kid!”
And we definitely agree. Anyone who has five surgeries under their belt at age 11 is definitely ‘tough’ in our books!
The impressive little girl decides not to take advantage of the attention she receives before her surgery, and instead asks her parents to have a simple “family party.” Most kids would ask for a trip to Chuck-E-Cheese or ice cream, but not little Mia!

Mia Robertson Is ‘Great’ After Surgery
Though the season finale episode airs on March 26, the surgery actually took place on Jan. 3 and Mia has since recovered.
Thankfully, life post-surgery seems to be treating the little girl quite well. As any typical girl would, she was excited to finally be able to eat some chicken nuggets once she received an “all-clear” from her doctors.
“We are going straight to [Chick-Fil-A] from the doctor’s office,” Mia told Closer Weekly.
She also admitted that the hardest part of surgery was being unable to have chicken strips for the three whole months after.
“I honestly was never scared about having surgery. It wasn’t the first time, you know?” admitted Mia, who had her first operation at just 3-months-old. “Besides, I had my mom and dad with me, and I knew God would be with me the whole time.”
What an inspiring little girl Mia is! Hopefully, Jase and Missy are very proud of her.
