‘The Little Couple’s Jen & Bill were not about to let a scary cancer diagnosis ruin their children’s holiday. Instead, the couple worked together to ensure their kids, Will and Zoey, had a happy Christmas to celebrate with their loving family.
The March 25 episode of The Little Couple showed our favorite family celebrating their first Christmas together. While balancing Dr. Jen Arnold‘s chemotherapy, her and husband Bill Klein vowed to make this Christmas one to remember for their children, Will & Zoey.
‘The Little Couple’ — Zoey Has A Scare
The March 25 episode of The Little Couple was filled with adorable moments that are definitely relatable to anyone who has small children! Of course, just when things seem to be going smoothly, one of the little ones gets injured. Thankfully, it all turned out okay.
Bill was hanging up new stockings above the fireplace, when newly adopted Zoey, 2, fell backwards and hit her head on the marble. It was a scary moment for the family, because Zoey’s head started to bleed. Luckily, Jen is an awesome doctor, so she was able to assess the situation and see that Zoey would be okay. Thankfully, she did not need stitches either.
Jen Saves Christmas With A Family Outing
Following Zoey’s mishap, it was nothing but holiday festivities for the happy family. Even though Jen admitted that her chemotherapy was affecting her immune system in a negative way, she was desperate to get the kids out of the house. It’s clear the family is getting a little bit of cabin fever, and Jen really doesn’t want her cancer to take away from Zoey and Will’s Christmas.
Jen decides to take the kids on holiday hayride through a nearby neighborhood that has some spectacular lights and decorations. Bill is skeptical at first, but eventually caves so that the kids can have a nice outing with the whole family. The hayride was a huge hit with both Zoey and Will, who were smiling from ear to ear. The kids even showered their parents with kisses afterwards!
Jen is truly inspiring throughout this episode, because even though she isn’t feeling well she still puts her family and their happiness first.
Jen & Bill Surprise The Kids For Christmas
Jen and Bill still had one more holiday treat up their sleeve for the kids! Jen invited her parents David & Joyce to come over on Christmas eve, with David volunteering to dress up as Santa. Bill said it best, ” From what I’ve been told, Santa can be well received or not so well received depending on the child.” Will was overjoyed with Santa and ran straight into his arms while smiling and giggling– making for some adorable pictures! Zoey on the other hand, was not as trusting in St. Nick and kept her distance.
Bill had some fun with Zoey’s skepticism saying, ” It’s nice to be able to take a nice picture of your child screaming in terror and then share it with loved ones around the globe, it’s a parents right of passage.”
Finally it was time for Jen and Bill to exchange gifts. Jen took Bill outside and revealed that she had gifted him with a tool chest — a gift that is very appropriate for the father of two young toddlers! ” The one things about Bill that I think was very appropriate of getting him a tool box is that, he’s kind of Mr. Fixit everyday, I mean he is always trying to make things work, make things easy, especially with all that’s been going on lately.”
Bill also had a thoughtful gift for Jen, a starfish necklace — a symbol that is very important to the couple and was even the theme of their wedding! The beautiful necklace was complete with Zoey and Will’s birthstones, as well as a healing stone in the back.
A Family Through Thick And Thin
The day after Christmas, Jen headed back to the hospital for a 24 hour batch of chemotherapy. Regardless of how tough a situation is, this family is tough and sticks together — which is exactly what they did by bringing dinner to Jen in the hospital and spending quality time together as a family.
“It’s almost hard to even comprehend how different this Christmas is from last, now that we finally have Will and Zoey home, we are a family now, and I am forever grateful this Christmas, because they’re with us and that’s the most important thing.” We are glad that this family had a happy holiday with plenty of memories to last them for many years to come!
