Is there beef between hip-hop giants 50 Cent and Eminem? 50 has recently split from Em’s record label to go independent and some have speculated that the separation has caused bad blood between the two.
After more than a decade under Eminem’s Shady/Aftermath record label, 50 Cent is breaking away to start his own label. Although some have speculated that the split has caused major beef between the two, both 50 and Em maintain that they are still very much friends.
50 Cent & Eminem Feuding Over Record Label Split?
50 Cent let the world know on Feb. 20 that he was ditching Universal Music Group’s Interscope Records and Eminem’s Shady/Aftermath label to go independent. Soon after, rumors started to spread concerning the relationship of the two hip-hop icons. But the two life long industry friends maintain that they are closer than ever.
“It’s impossible to ruin the relationship Eminem and I have built up,” 50 said in an interview with the Huffington Post on March 19. “There’s no way I would say or do anything that would disrespect what he’s done for me.”
50 goes on to praise Em saying that he credits a “huge portion” of his success to Slim Shady. “If it wasn’t for him being excited about the project, no one else would have rallied around it,” 50 said.
50 Cent Splits From Eminem Record Lable — Stikes Out On His Own
Fresh off debuting a few of his newest songs at this year’s South by Southwest, 50 Cent plunged back into hip-hop. His new album, Animal Ambition, is slotted to drop on June 3 this year, and to celebrate its upcoming release, 50 dropped the videos for “Hold On” and “Don’t Worry Bout It” on March 18.
50 is not holding back the ambition. He also plans to release his long-awaited Street King Immortal album later this year as well.
