Well that’s a reaction we haven’t heard yet! For the first time ever, the wives of the ‘Duck Dynasty’ men are speaking out in a new interview, and Phil’s wife is revealing the shocking reaction she had to those crazy quotes.
Phil Robertson‘s family stood by the Duck Dynasty star’s controversial comments, but his wife’s going even further to say that she’s proud of them! Phil spoke out in the January issue of GQ, dissing the gay community, as well as the black community — and it caused quite the backlash.
Phil Robertson’s Comments — Wife Miss Kay Is Proud
“It was just part of what Phil said, which made it look so much worse,” Miss Kay told Us magazine. “It was very hard for him. I told him how proud I was that he did that and stood on his Christian beliefs. That took courage.”
It was a little shocking since the comments that Phil, 67, had said caused the A&E hit show to be temporarily suspended and cause quite a backlash in the community.
She also told the magazine that her husband’s best qualities were “his passionate faith and charismatic personality.”
The interview was a preview to a new book written by all the Duck Dynasty wives titled, The Women of Duck Commander.
Phil’s Anti-Gay Comments
Just a reminder, the controversy came after Phil’s comments to GQ.
“Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there,” Phil said to the magazine. “Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men. Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers—they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”
He added in his own feelings as well — that “a vagina—as a man—would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer.”
While everyone has their opinions, adding “but hey, sin: it’s not logical” made it sound extremely controversial.
HollywoodLifers, are you surprised that Miss Kay is proud of her husband?
