Following the March 17 suicide of Mick’s longtime girlfriend L’Wren Scott, the singer released a sad statement with a sweet tribute to his ‘lover and best friend.’
Mick Jagger is understandably heartbroken and distraught following the shocking news that his girlfriend of more than 10 years, L’Wren Scott, 49, committed suicide in her NYC apartment. A day after her passing, The Rolling Stones‘ star took to his website to share his pain and confusion.
Mick Jagger’s Tribute To L’Wren Scott
Mick, 70, broke the silence on March 18, posting a blog titled “L’Wren” with a photo of the designer on his website. Under the photo, he wrote:
I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way. We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves. She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me. I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received.
I will never forget her,
Mick Steps Out After Passing
Mick was in Australia for his tour when he received the call to inform him what had happened. He was seen walking out of Coco’s restaurant in Perth, Australia, the city that the Rolling Stones were scheduled to perform on the 19th.
The Rolling Stones concert in Perth will not be going ahead as scheduled for Wednesday 19 March 2014.
