Authorities now believe that Malaysia Flight 370 could have landed somewhere on the ground — and that a landing would be concrete proof that this shocking hijacking is part of a terrorist plot to use the plane for a future attack.
The investigation surrounding missing Malaysia Flight 370 has uncovered new details suggesting that the plane could have landed on the ground somewhere in Central Asia. Malaysian officials suggested on March 16 that the plane’s last satellite contact could have been made from the ground, as long as the plane still had electrical power. This new theory implies that the plane was likely taken over so that the hijackers could use it for a future attack — so now the hunt to locate it has really intensified.
Missing Malaysia Flight 370 Possibly Landed: Hijacked By Terrorists?
If the plane did land then it’s even more important that authorities find it, reports CNN.
“Time is even more of the essence,” said Shawn Pruchnicki, who teaches aviation safety and accident investigation at Ohio State University. “If this airplane has been taken to be used as a weapon, then the time that has been taken to prepare the aircraft for whatever deed is the plan — obviously to thwart that, it’s all about time.”

Another aviation official revealed that whoever intentionally steered the plane off course likely did it with help. But who can know what horrible plans they have in store for the plane and its passengers?
“We have been behind them all along,” said CNN aviation analyst Jim Tilmon, a former American Airlines pilot. “So now, if they had a plan, and if that plan included being able to set down someplace and refuel a little bit, we are looking at something that we may never see the end of.”
Malaysia Airlines Flight Made Land — Possible Hijacking?
Malaysia’s civil aviation chief Azharuddin Abdul Rahman said on March 16 that it’s possible the Boeing 777’s last satellite contact could have been made from the ground, as long as the plane still had electrical power.
For the families and loved ones of those that were on board Flight 370, some have found comfort in the fact that there’s no evidence the plane crashed. But the questions still remain: Where did the plane go, and if someone took it — what do they intend to do with it?
