Sorry, Oliver Queen — there’s a new superhero in town, and his costume was designed by Oscar winner Colleen Atwood, so he’s looking pretty fly. Check out the first official pic of Grant Gustin as The Flash below!
‘The Flash’ Suit: Grant Gustin’s Costume Revealed
Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) might be the billionaire, but it’s Barry who looks like a billion bucks.
The costume, designed by Oscar winner Colleen Atwood (Chicago, Memoirs of a Geisha, Alice in Wonderland), is a deep, blood-red — and of course it’s skin-tight. (The Flash is the fastest man alive, so he cannot be pinned down by weighty attire.) It features his signature lighting bolt on the chest and helmet, since it was a jolt of electricity that got him into this whole mess.
The lighting on the picture makes it tough to see the more intimate details of the suit, but let’s just say that it’s enough to render us ridiculously excited to check out this pilot. Arrow is the best show on The CW right now, and since The Flash is being made by the same people, we’re optimistic that it’s going to be one of the highlights of the 2014-2015 television season.
Barry Allen Becomes ‘The Flash’
Barry was first introduced to audiences during his two-episode arc on Arrow at the end of 2013, and by the end of it he was lying unconscious on the floor of S.T.A.R. Labs after the Particle Accelerator explosion got him electrocuted.
We haven’t heard a word from or about him since, but it’s understandable — Sara Lance’s (Caity Lotz) arrival and the reintroduction of Slade (Manu Bennett) has kept Oliver, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards), and the rest of the gang pretty busy.
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Do you like the new suit? Should “The Hood” be jealous that the new guy in town has such a sexy new look? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
