In a new video titled “Can Anyone Understand ‘True Detective?’” that aired during the March 5 episode of Joel’s show The Soup, he and his “Community” co-star Jim Rash do tongue-tied impressions of Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson‘s hardened cop characters — and the results are hysterical!

Matthew McConaughey’s ‘True Detective’ Long-Take Heist Scene
We’re not surprised Joel and Jim decided to spoof True Detective — the show is chock-full of buzzworthy scenes!
One of our favorites of the season features Detective Rust Cohle (McConaughey) bursting into a housing project, surviving multiple shootouts, running outside to escape from a crowd of police, running through yet another house, hopping over a fence, and then — finally — making his way into his partner Detective Hart’s (Woody Harrelson) car.
Did you get all that? Just be thankful there wasn’t much dialogue to trip you up!
So HollywoodLifers, do YOU think Joel’s True Detective parody is funny? Let us know!
