While Whoopi definitely enjoyed her time at the Academy Awards on March 2, she wasn’t happy with the fact that the women of ‘The View’ weren’t invited — and she told ABC exactly how she felt!
Whoopi Goldberg and Barbara Walters have never been the type to hold back — and nothing has changed! On the March 4 episode of The View, both women called out ABC, telling the network that it was’t okay that they weren’t represented at the Oscars!
Whoopi Goldberg Bashes ABC
“I had a great time at the Oscars,” Whoopi said to the panel, but she wasn’t about to let a certain thing roll off her shoulders. “I was ashamed to walk down that carpet to see every other daytime show represented except Rachael Ray, and we weren’t there. We are the only show — I hate to ring my own bell, but what the hell — The View is the only show that has an Oscar winner on the panel, and I thought it was a shame.”[hl_ndn videoid=”25677981″]
Whoopi, 58, attended the Oscars and introduced Pink who paid tribute to Judy Garland and The Wizard of Oz. She won an Oscar in 1990 for her role in Ghost.
Barbara agreed with her costar.
“The View was created 17 years ago,” the 85-year-old said on the show. “Now that I’m not goin’ to be here forever, I’m gonna brag too! We don’t get promos the way others [d0], we’re sort of the stepchildren of it. Bill [Geddie] and I have done Academy Award specials year after year, but you know, were still here and [Whoopi] we’re very proud of you!”
We were pretty shocked that The View dissed their own network, but it is surprising that all other daytime shows were represented. What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Should they have dissed ABC like that?
